	Purchased and used both "Grocery Gadget" and "Groceries - The Grocery Shopping List". The user interface is clean, slick, and intuitive, rather than the more utilitarian interface found in Grocery Gadget. However, I found the interface in Groceries to be less useful than Grocery Gadget in two ways. First, Groceries does not have a convenient way to indicate quantity, unlike Grocery Gadget's dedicated +/- counter. Second, Groceries does not have the capability to attach pictures to the item (again, unlike Grocery Gadget). Both programs allow multiple lists, categories within lists (e.g. "produce"), and creation of custom categories and items. Neither app has what feels to me to be a mature item database. For example, neither database contains "bok choy." The Grocery Gadget database is a little more extensive than that used by Groceries, but can sometimes get too specific -- you'll either have to add "apples" yourself, or choose from amongst the half-dozen specific varieties in the list. I have switched fully to Grocery Gadget for its richer functionality, but would switch back to Groceries in a heartbeat if they added an easy quantity indicator and the ability to attach photos to items.

	This is easier to use when at the store than pen and paper. But writing a grocery list is somewhat of a chore.First, the built-in database is not very helpful — lacking entries for, e.g., broccoli and 2% milk. (For plain milk, you can have whole, skim, or low-fat — but milk is sold in 4 varieties in the US.) It is very heavy on brand-name items. However for all but a few items, I don’t care what brand I buy. It would be way more useful to have a single entry for “Tortillas, Burrito Size,” than a dozen entries for tortilla brands that aren’t available where I live.With that said, the database problem should get better the longer I use the app, because you can easily add your own items to the database.The second and bigger problem is that you can’t specify quantities at the time you add the item. I usually have a list of recipes in front of me, so I have to go through my entire list and select the items, and then go through the list a second time to enter quantities.I’ve used this for my last two shopping trips and, honestly, typing up a list in Word or OmniOutliner is faster, but I’m going to keep using this app in the hope that it will be faster once I get over the learning curve.

	This is a really great app. The only things missing are a few simple items sorted to the top (do a search for Milk to see what I'm talking about), and a simple way to mark an item to quickly let me know I have a coupon. I use the notes feature right now, but it's not intuitive and is super slow. I'd be better off using pen and paper.

	My thanks to the developer for creating something that is not only visually attractive, but fairly easy to learn and full of features. I've been playing with the app for just a couple of hours, and I feel very comfortable with it. This has everything I want — a large, easily customizable starting database, the ability to rearrange aisles to match my local stores, the ability to add aisles as well as items, and the ability to share the list with my husband. I like that I can also email my mom a list for her Costco runs, even though she doesn't have an iDevice.Thank you Sophiestication Software!

	I have tried virtually all of the shopping list apps in the appstore and they all seem to have their strengths and weaknesses. This one is by FAR the best looking one of them all. It just looks absolutely gorgeous. It's not all just about the looks either as Groceries comes with a pretty large database of items, but it doesn't slow down when adding items (like GroceryIQ) or have a bunch of extra unecesary aisle (Pick & Choose - which also has some incorrect aisles attached to items!). The layout of the UI is also well thought out, and easy to just pick up and use.Unfortunately it has some problems as well. Aisles seem to be static, in that you can't reorder them. You may find yourself occasionally backtracking through areas of the store you have already gone through because the "Snacks" category is at the end of your list and you went through that aisle a long time ago. It's missing some of the more advanced features others have had more time to refine such as multiple stores, prices, recipes, and desktop/website syncing. But it's only a 1.0 product so we can wait and see what comes down the road. It's certainly a solid start.

	This is one of my favorite apps, I use it several times / week. The initial grocery list was very thorough, but count on spending time customizing the list when you first set this up. From that point forward using this is a breeze. Highly recommended.

	The interface is gorgeous - it's an absolute pleasure to use. It feels just right. The pre-populated items, aside from being convenient, actually give you ideas you otherwise wouldn't have thought of. You can add items to 'favorites' so the things you get frequently are easy to add. And the ability to associate aisles with items is brilliant.

	It's a pretty app. But the database is nowhere near that of Grocery IQ's database. Try entering broccoli and you find a ton of custom-label prepackaged products and one entry for "Broccoli (Frozen)." There's no "Broccoli." Cauliflower? Same thing. Honey Bunches of Oats? No way to specify which type of cereal you want. There's an entry for "Bread." How about more than a few kinds? It's hard to promote Grocery IQ, especially because it's not actively being developed anymore since it got sold to Coupons Inc., but I just wasted a dollar on this software.

	This has proven useful in the 3 times my husband and I have used it (I make the list; he shops). Two upgrade requests: 1. Coupon indication (you've heard this one before) 2. The ability to add a photo to an item. Example: I want a particular face soap, and I can describe it all I want, but snapping a picture and tying it to that item would make my husband's selection process so much easier. 3. Custom units should be put in the units list alphabetically, not at the bottom of the units list)

	I got this program to simplify my trips to the commissary. I have not been disappointed. I can list the specials in the notes section so I know when a product is on sale, I can alter the list to fit the layout of the store and even set the amounts how I want them to read. My only complaint is that you cannot compare notes on two lists at once. Otherwise, this is perfect for moms like me that have to take kids with them to the market.

	I love this app. It crashed often before version 2.0, but I used it anyway. Oftentimes, it would actually wipe out everything I checked off at the grocery store, yet I still used it. Now, with version 2.0, I can't even go into the app. It immediately crashes and exits. Please fix.

	I have this app and GroceryIQ with the intentions of choosing to use one app permanently over the other and GroceryIQ is more than likely going to be my choice. This app is easy to use, convenient and simple; but the constant crashing is irritating. I will continue to try for a few more days. My rating will increase with improvement. Thank you!!! 

	So, apparently grocery list apps are important to me because I keep buying them. I guess it's because the others didn't feel quite right. That's not going to be a problem for me anymore.
