The TomTom Navigation app requires a GPS signal. 3G-enabled iPads, iPhone 3G and later models have an internal GPS receiver. Users of non-3G iPads and iPod touch 2nd gen and later models will require an external GPS receiver. The original iPhone and iPod touch are not supported.
(1)Compatible with iPhone 3G/3GS/4/4S, iPad WiFi + 3G models. If you’d prefer to use your existing subscription on your iPad, restore your purchases within the TomTom App on your iPad. The App will prompt you to transfer your subscription between your iPhone and iPad.
(2)Announces street names in the following languages: English UK, English US, English Australian.
(3)Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

	No HD and real time traffic in this edition as other countries edition. Unfair!!! Please add it. I know you could .I have seen many gps with this function in the shop, includes tomtom.please it is really useful when we met a traffic jam unfortunately. It deserve five star if there is such function added.

	The app works well but people should know - hard to find this info - that the app draws more power than the TomTom car kit can deliver. Haven't tested how long it takes to discharge but be warned.

	I have the TomTom app and totally love it.The only three minor bothers are:1. After you get to your destination, you can't have it simply do reverse directions and take you back to where you came from, without going through the whole entering-the-address process.2. If you are not sure which suburb a street is in, there is no way you can put the street in first and then choose from a list of suburbs. It should be easy for it to know which suburbs are in the same city as you and suggest the ones that have that street.3. The other reviewer is also right about the volume. If you have your music playing from the iPod app, Tomtom is great to mute it when giving the directions, but the TomTom directions are SO MUCH louder than the music that if you have the music at a pleasant volume, the TOMTOM directions totally hurt your ears they are so loud.

	I've used quite a few of the available GPS apps and I can honestly say that this is the best out there in terms of usability. Some of the other competitor's apps have big usability issues, and seems like clunky ports of their existing software to the iPhone. This TomTom app seems to be written from the ground up to be iPhone friendly.The issues that I have with this first version, however are:- The volume control for the voice overs doesn't work when plugged into a dock connector (like the one that you might plug into your car, for example). This makes it really annoying when you're trying to listen to some music at the same time, and then because the audio from the GPS is highly compressed (dynamic range compression), it deafens you. So you're left either listening to the whisper of music, or being deafened by the volume control. The volume control works when the dock connector is not plugged in, however. For reference, I'm using a 32GB iPhone 3GS.- The font size of the readout down the bottom is too small. On some of the other GPS apps out there, the font size is nice and big and readable. - The speed limit in particular is too small. They have a a nice 32/60 km/h readout. But trying to focus in on the "60" (which is your current speed limit), is just too small. I much prefer the read out on other GPS's which have a big red speed limit sign posted on the top right of the GPS display, that also gives you a warning when you're over the speed limit.All in all, this is a great app. And it will be come my GPS of choice.I really hope they fix up these little niggly bugs. It's a little big annoying given that they've had so many years to produce this software, but, I give them 4/5 stars until then.

	I bought the app on the release date and have been trying to use it in any way possible. I have full signal and am in Sydney city and only ever get "poor gps signal" in the Tom Tom app which means that it won't work. As a result the app is useless. Really dissapointing and a huge waste of money. Pay the cash and buy a sat nav for your car from a physical store, but don't go Tom Tom brand!

	I'm getting rid of my old GPS unit because this is so good. Just wish it wasn't so loud compared to the music and that the volume control through the dock worked.Also I'd love to be able to install voices, custom POI sets and other things like the stand-alone TomToms.I'd recommend it if you can live with the above.

	App was working perfectly for months now. Just upgraded to the latest 1.2 version and it shows the TomTom splash screen, then goes back to the iPhone finder. It's broken. DOES NOT LOAD. I would not recomend upgrading just yet.

	The new 1.2 version does not even loadApp was working perfectly for months now. Just upgraded to the latest 1.2 version and it shows the TomTom splash screen, then goes back to the iPhone finder. Its broken. DOES NOT LOAD. I would not recomend upgrading just yet.

	Excellent GPSI have been using a Garmin Nuvi for years as a standalone device, and this app has convinced me that I will never have to buy another standalone again.Pros:- Excellent user interface, easy to use- Plenty of route options. Manual recalculation, rerouting, changing type of route during navigation- Great integration with Google so that local addresses can be used or known Google searches can be relied upon- Fantastic "offline" capability. When we are out of 3G range, it is nice to be able to rely upon having an excellent built-in map. Even the POV list is excellent, including minor businesses and important restaurants and petrol stations. You never know how important this is until you find yourself lost or trying to find a place to eat in an area with no coverage.- The Tom Tom car kit integration is fantastic. The car kit has a loud and clear speaker and a supplemental GPS receiver. The entire package is a quality combo- Never interferes with driving and has a clear legible display. You can instantly zoom in with two fingers with minimal distraction, and the Tom Tom gradually returns to the wide view after a while so you dont have to fiddle with it. Great design and overall shows a tremendous amount of consideration for the driving experience.- Users can contribute map errors using a very simple and well-designed interface.- Regular updates arrive automatically without having to update the app.- So far, great update policy.- Very reliable. We have had no crashes so far.Cons:- While you can use the phone during driving, it is sometimes confusing. Its worth practicing at placing and taking calls while youre standing still so you can get used to what is expected.- There are not a lot of GPS gizmos. For example, there is no good trip meter. I miss the screen on my Garmin where I had a lot of data about our travelling speed, average speed, etc.- It is annoying having to pair the device with the car kit. I wish it "just worked" when you plugged it in.- While the built-in "auto zoom" features are excellent for normal use, it would be nice if there were a "zoom lock" to keep a particular view all the time. The auto zoom is remarkably good, perhaps they felt that giving people more control may just lead to greater drive-time distractions.(Apparent) myths:- I have heard people complain that reception without the car kit is spotty. We have not found this to be true at all. In fact, in a pinch, we put the device in a cup holder and even when driving into country Victoria we have had no coverage problems. If the car kit indeed improves reception, even better, but our experience has been flawless over about 10000km of use with or without the kit.- We use an iPhone 4 and have had no battery drain problems. While its true that we use the car kit most of the time, at times when we have used the device on batteries, we have seen no unreasonable drain. Other GPS apps (such as the Motion GPS and the trail tracking programs) appear to use noticeably more battery power than the Tom Tom does. However, it obviously does decrease battery life when using it for full time navigation as the display is on constantly.

	Ok with a few minor flawsGenerally happy with V 1.9.Only issue I find in Sydney is that some fixed cameras are missing from its database compared to say my Tom Tom GO 720T (which is very accurate) Hopefully it will be addressed in an update soon? (Are you listening Tom Tom?) :-)So you need to still be on the lookout as you may not always get a warning at an intersection about the fixed camera.Otherwise it works fine on my 4S with no other issues of note, and the HD Traffic option is money well spent for those spending time in Sydney traffic.
