Current Version Info about best apps / Finance / Meter Readings
Added support for negative rates, which is likely to be useful when combining electricity consumption and generation on the same meter. In addition, you can now choose meter types where total usage is R1-R2 or (R1+R2)-R3 or (R1-R2)+R3.
Added iCloud support for transferring backups between devices as part of the Power User upgrade. Note that this DOES NOT automatically sync your data between devices. Rather it uses iCloud to let you move backup files around, much like Dropbox. If you use my Account Tracker app, you will be familiar with this.
Added a fix to allow the app to support truly large numbers of meters (100s) as part of the Pro User upgrade. The main restriction before was the amount of memory required to display the graphs, and of course the swipe interface was not so good for lots of meters. Now only 9 meters are included in the swipe display, but you can jump to any meter using the List button at the top left of the screen.
Retina support for the new iPad.
Minor bug fixes and small UI changes.

This useful application makes it easy to MONITOR your household utility meters. Once you start entering readings, your usage, costs and savings are calculated and displayed in easy to visualise graphs.

	This is better than a lot of the other apps for energy meter reading. At least you can manually enter the history to give a more accurate view of your usage. I would really like to see someone provide import/export functionality and more graphing capabilities, even a web based support for the service. This app was actually a 3.5 star but I figured I would go with 4 because it has some potential. More function than form but still a good start. Don't waste your money with the others.

	I normally have a sensor at my power panel, but removed it to get my home ready for sale. Now, thus let's me still see my power usage and estimated electric bill with minimal effort.

	Would be nice if a chart can be viewed in Landscape mode covering longer time frame. Please add a feature where utility consumption can be computed per unit, i.e. Water usage per rental unit. My meter reads in 6 digits! (and still omits 2 zeros) so I have to truncate readings in thousands! Would be nice to have 2 or 3 more digits to the wheel for larger readings!

	Extremely useful app, and it keeps getting better as the developer keeps tweaking it. In a nutshell, it lets you monitor your utility meters instead of letting the utility companies do it. That’s made me much more careful with energy use around the house, and that’s a great service. Highly recommended.

	I've been using this app to keep track of my solar electric system. My needs are complicated, since on some days my meter turns backwards and I have a "regular" electric meter and a solar meter. The developer has always responded quickly to my e-mails with requests for improvements or added functionality, by e-mailing me directly and then improving the app with the next release. He has shown a commitment to producing a quality product. One point I should make for this review. The app determines cost by supporting different rates for different levels of cost. I don't use that functionality so I'm not reviewing that aspect of the app. I just set my cost factor to $1 to read the output as power used.

	I purchased this app to monitor a sub meter on an apartment that feeds off my main house meter. At first I had a bit of difficulty configuring the very complicated electric bill into this app. I contacted the developer who was very quick to respond. It is clear that he has put a lot of thought into this app and is going to continue to develop and evolve this app. It is very difficult to anticipate the needs of every user in every country and to adopt to different currencies and terminology and the complicated rules of different electric companies in different countries, but this developer is certainly doing everything possible to do so. If you need to monitor your electric meter, this is the only app that really brings it all together to do that. I have looked at every single similar app available in the iTunes store and this is the only one that even comes close to doing what it claims. Highly recommended.

	This is very well designed app that fulfils its purpose admirably. I have been using it for over a month now monitoring the electrical usage in my home because the electrical bills were spiralling out of control, especially with the air-conditioning use in the summer. The electricity pricing in my neighbourhood is progressive in terms of both the fixed monthly charge and the kWh usage charge, so higher usage generates dramatically higher monthly bills. This handy app on my iPhone replaced the pencil-and-paper + Excel sheet system that I had been using to monitor and diagnose the electricity usage, and by simple. easy, but systematic monitoring I was able to discover that a lot of electricity was being wasted by devices on standby. I purchased a simple plug-in watt meter to check each of the equipment in use around the house, and installed power strips with shutoff switches so that I could keep idle equipment fully disconnected when it was not needed - things like the stereo, TV, even cable boxes and so on. I have been able to reduce monthly electricity bills dramatically, and can now predict future bills with accuracy. I commend the developer on his attention to detail, and the ability to handle different currencies, different pricing systems, and different utility types (electric, gas, water). And the data can be exported for analysis in other applications. The app can also take screen shots of its own charts to save for the future. I had not seen that feature on other apps before, and I can imagine other apps that could benefit from the same feature. I will look forward to continued upgrades and enhancements, as well as new apps for similar purposes in other areas, like automobile gas mileage and cost tracking. In terms of improvements, I personally prefer graphs to always start at zero, which could be offered as an option. I found it interesting that other customer ratings were mostly negative (only one star) - perhaps I am too much of an engineer, or maybe others do not feel as compelled to manage their energy consumption and costs as actively.

	What a handy little app! With electricity costs soaring (doubling in one month) during the summer months and the expectancy arrival of PG&E's "SmartMeter, I was trying to keep a daily log of kWh usage and project monthly cost using a fairly complicated multiple tier system. After stumbling across this program and trying to program the rate structure, the math from the program and those by handwritten calculations did not align. I sent Graham, the developer, an email explaining the situation and within an hour or so he offered me a response that was, simple, clear, and concise that rectified the problem, kudos! It works great and will definitely save more than the $.99 I paid fit the app! Definitely worth the buy!

	This works. It doesn't crash. Graphs are plentiful (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly). Graphs expand in landscape mode. Basic meter rate setup is so flexible that it accounts for just about any situation. This is a stellar tracker, well worth what the author wants. So, why not 5 stars? I am missing two things. First, each meter is tracked separately. It would be nice if I could get a (monthly) graphy of my total utility bill expense amount, to see if the whole bill is trending up or down. Second, it would be nice if I could tap the graph to get the current reading value. Look at the second screen shot up above, the bottom graph is in currency. You see that gas for December was 126.41 (the longest red graph which touches the top grid line). There is now no way to figure out what the November amount was, or the July amount (second bar). The grid line in the middle gives the average, so you can make a rough guess. Here it would be nice to tap the November bar and have the value pop up so you can see how much lower that amount was. Going into the individual reading list will give you the amount, but it would be nice to have it right there in the graph while you are looking at it and digisting the trend. The author is extremely responsive and I'm sure that somesuch will come in an update. Oh, and let me also mention that nothing else currently comes close in utility (no pun!), at least that I've found in the app store.

	This app has helped me dramatically control my energy (electricity and gas) and water costs. I tried many different ways to do this, but this app solved all my problems. And I am even using it to track the mileage and gas usage on my cars ! It is well constructed and straightforward to use, coping with multiple types of energy and many many different types of billing systems. But perhaps the most precious thing about it is the excellent and timely support provided by Graham Haley. To see what I mean, go to his support web site and read some of the dialogue between the developer and the users. I keep up to date with the app by having the support site email me those comments and replies. I warmly recommend this app and its sister app for tracking your finances.

I wish it would display an hourly graph as I want to track useage patterns throughout the day (see the effect of turning equipment on/off, what is consumed at night versus a busy period of the day, etc.). Where hourly samples are missing, it could simply show interpolated points on the graph in a different color for example. Since one knows what is running over a period of time there would be no need for those expensive appliance wattmeters, either.Nice job!
