Other games billed as ATC are nothing more than drawing flightpaths with your finger. This app, on the other hand, gives you full control of heading, speed, and altitude in one rather ingenious HUD.”
Imagine being the air traffic controller at a busy airport. No plane gets in or out without your say so and guidance. It’s up to you to ensure that all take-offs and landings go smoothly, the lives of passengers and crews are in your hands. Are your skills up to directing flight traffic in a way that avoids disaster? Can you handle the pressure of multiple requests coming in from various aircraft?
ATC Pro uses a USGS map approach for more interesting and realistic playing experiences. It won’t take long before you feel like a real air traffic controller and are hopelessly addicted to ATC Pro.
Of course, the idea is to get passengers to where they are going with no disasters or near misses occurring. However, there may be times when you’ve had a bad day or crave a little extra excitement and decide to let an aircraft crash. This results in a fireball, complete with an explosion sound. At this point, the game may or not be over. It depends on how you’ve opted to do your settings. You can choose whether to allow crashes, lost aircraft and more.
The following options are available:
Allow crashes without terminating
Allow lost aircraft without terminating
Allow emergencies (low fuel)
Allow small aircraft
Sound effects (new arrivals, lost aircraft, crashes)
As this is likely your first stint as an air traffic controller, you might be nervous about getting started. Don’t worry, there are tutorial levels for landing and takeoffs to help you get your air legs. After that, there are scenarios designed to put more and more pressure on the controller (you) to route aircraft to their destinations without losing or crashing any aircraft. Comprehensive help is available from within the simulation scenario, including the specific scoring rules for each.
This application includes takeoff and landing tutorials as well as the following scenarios:
Handle 5 landings (practice)
Handle 5 takeoffs (practice)
Handle 10 aircraft landing and taking off
Handle 20 aircraft landing and taking off
Play Until Incident (crash or lost aircraft)
Play 5 minute speed round
Play 10 minute speed round
The app offers different maps with a choice of Detroit (DTW) or Chicago (ORD) airport locations and runway layouts, which challenge you to come up with the safest approach and departure patterns. Zoom and pan features allow you to focus on a close landing and other situations that call for your expert skills.

What an addicting game. A lot of fun. It definitely gets better with each update A couple of things can get frustrating: 1) aircraft on one runway should not crash when an aircraft on a different runway is lining up (which is why I don't play DCA anymore) 2) not knowing what altitude aircraft are entering the airspace I would like to see new airports (LAX/SFO/ATL). It would also be nice to have a surface wind feature that limits runways for landings and take-off, to include having to use the reverse runways. It would also be nice to know which runway an aircraft is waiting for clearance at. Overall, it is a really fun, addicting, and realistic game

It is still way to hard to click on aircraft.. That wasn't fixed with this update please fix it asap.. It's impossible to play if we can't click on them quickly.. Things to fix.. -With this recent update it is hard to click on just the right plane you want to select please fix that.. -At the end of the 10 min. speed round when it gives you your score there should be an option to "continue play" and keep playing. The "play until incident level" starts to slow and boring.. Great game though. Keep the new maps and stuff coming!!..

Wk. 2 since the Can't-Select-Aircraft-Anymore update  Totally missing my awesome game. Hope you're making some good $ - pleased fan with every update here! Since latest update, can't select aircraft (in flight or awaiting clearance) with ease anymore. Good luck, Larry!

I have this and ATC 4.0, among others. Each have a different aspect that makes them fun. But this has taken me by storm. It looks and feels very realistic ( all things considered) I have had no issues selecting any aircraft, and not experienced any bugs. Complaining about the size of the planes is a silly irrelevant thing to gripe over. This is made exceedingly well for the intended devices. What do you expect, screen dominating close ups of aircraft? Huh? There is almost zero sound effects and it would be nice if there were more than just the warning beeps. Needs and endless mode, and more airports please please add Seatac, and LAX. That would be very cool. There is a learning curve to consider as you will be controlling speed, altitude, general heading for both take off and landings of multiple aircraft simultaneously. But don't worry about it. You'll catch on and the tutorial helps ease into things. All in all a very fun and well made ATC sim, probably the very best there is. I just can't put it down!!! If you have already tried other ATCs then don't hesitate and get this ASAP.

I'm with the other reviewers. it is hard to select aircraft now. but what i would like to see is a play till incident with a little less aircraft. once i hit 100,000 it gets insane. i would just like a casual 15- 20 and play a little more relaxed. And with the last update I no longer get the lost aircraft warning? great game though well worth the money. But I enjoyed it better before last update too hard too fast.

Updated: they just improved the game a bunch. It's easier to select aircraft and no more limit on "play until incident". You set the length if you game challenge. Good job developers! Still really want to see a couple new airports. LAX, Seatac, Kennedy. Please. Please. Please. Years ago, I enjoyed playing TRACON on the PC because it was so realistic, ATC Pro is TRACON for the iPhone! You don't just drag your finger to direct the planes, it's much more realistic. Great program, one of my favorites.

What a piece of garbage. It was fun until it crashed my iPod and actually got so screwed up I couldn't exit the game to get to any other part of my iPod. I had to wait until I got to my computer to remove the app just to get my iPode to power back on and not crash just trying to access the front screen (the music, video, email, ect tabs). Save your money. How in the heck this passed anything resembling quality control is beyond my comprehension.

Wow very addicting. It's not like strawing your finger across the screen you actually have to plan to give your plane a heading but don't worry it's very easy giving you only about 4 headings. Also you have to give out clearences. Totally easy and fast install. More airports hopley will added. Totally worth the 2.99.

I just downloaded this game and instantly suffered a sharp raise in blood pressure. The controls are intuitive and the tutorials make it easy and quick to learn how to play. Expect to kill about an hour everytime you boot this game up.

This is not like any other ATC app out there. you pick it up and can't put it down for hours. It's also a great challenge, and gets harder with more aircraft. I strongly suggest this app to everyone for hours of fun!!
