Unify is the first truly multi-touch block dropping game.
Instead of a single piece falling from the top of the screen to the bottom, two pieces move in from the sides towards the middle, simultaneously.
The goal of the game is to make combinations of 4 or more of the same color, so that they disappear.
Once blocks disappear, all the blocks on top of them move in towards the center, giving you the opportunity for combos.

not since the olden days of planting myself in front of the tv to play some serious tetris have i been so enamored with a block drop game. the concept of having blocks fall from two different directions is at once simple and mindblowlingly complex. it definitely takes a few rounds to get used to but after a few plays you start seeing the patterns and everything falls into place beautifully. this game doesn't just provide a fun gameplay experience though, it's really beautiful to boot. the music is very interesting as well - the higher you progress the more complex the layers of the background song become. it's a breath of fresh air to play a block game this innovative while still keeping a nostalgic feel. keep up the great work!

I constantly scour the App store for unique games that have lasting value and fun that isn't simply based on speed or mindless tapping. Design is important too. Anyway, like another reviewer, i'm an addict to Drop7 and it's the game i use as a quality standard for others games as i've played it for almost a year daily without getting tired of it. Unify may become my only other fav. Game app. It's proved to be a gem so far. This is a very fun and challenging game, esp. After level 30 or the endless hard mode. Update in one week is fast! I think it fixed the probs ppl found.

I was skeptical about the game, the reviews were great but I wasn't too sure on the game play. I recommend everybody who is thinking about purchasing this check out the video at the Developer's website that is linked in the App description at the bottom. It shows the game play extremely well and it sealed the deal for me. Also, the screenshots had me thinking there would be loads of different colors on the screen at once, that isnt the case. As the levels progress the color scheme changes. I've only seen 5 different colors on the screen at once, so it really isnt as complicated as it looks. Nothing to complain about at all!

It's hard to find a game these days that's simple, yet contains depth. Challenging, yet fun. And best of all, focuses on a unique gameplay mechanic that makes you want to come back for more. Unify delivers on all these counts, and is easily one of the top "match-the-block" games on the app store. The music starts off quaint and charming, but may get a little weird for some. For my personal tastes, I enjoyed the music in the early levels. But, it's all about the gameplay. If you are looking for something that's just downright FUN amidst a slew of boring, tasteless games, you are in for a TREAT. This is the diamond in the rough for puzzle games. As far as challenge goes, the game starts off feeling really easy, and then frantic and heart pounding. By today's game standards, this is easily a game that could go for 5 dollars or more. It's a steal at 1.99, and I recommend that puzzle fans or people new to puzzle games buy this wonderful time killer...NOW!

the color schemes may become confusing later on during a session but I just take that as part of the fun and challenge. this is pretty much the spirtual successor to Tetris (but this has an actual endless mode) so just pick it up already.

The gameplay is frantic, the graphics look great, but there should be a quickplay mode, most games last me 5+ minutes when I only have 1-2 to spare.

I'm a little biased since I helped Zach test this game, but I gotta say: he did a great job! It starts off at a leisurely pace, then adds more colors, ramps up the speed, and soon you're juggling multiple blocks at once attempting to plan ahead to achieve multiple combos. Like Tetris, it's a block-drop game. And like Tetris, your goal is to clear blocks. But Unify is more like the evolution of Tetris, taking great advantage of the iPhone/iPod's unique characteristics. The blocks come from two sides, and because of the multi-touch capabilities of the iPhone, you are able to manage both sides of the game at the same time. Flipping, dragging, and matching up the blocks takes some multi-tasking skills and gets you thinking in a different way than other block drop games ever have. As you bring the blocks to the middle, matching up four or more of the same color will clear that group. The real skill comes in planning ahead to then get combos with multiple groups clearing in succession, which becomes great fun. Added fun is the music and landscape evolves as you play through levels, keeping you on your toes. Unify has four different game modes: normal, endless easy, endless medium, and endless hard, so not only is there something for everyone, but it keeps you busy and gives you options for whether you're feeling like playing an intense game for an hour or a leisurely one for a couple minutes. Like I said, I'm a little biased having tested the game, but Zach worked hard to tweak and perfect this game to a well-oiled puzzle machine, and I believe it's well worth your money! Plus, you get to support independent game developers in the process, so it's a win-win..!
