The idea of an Uno game on the nice big iPad screen is appealing, but I'm afraid that the implementation isn't as good as it could have been. The game suffers from numerous user interface glitches, the most frustrating of which involves selection of cards to play. It essentially requires two taps to select a card, then a drag or double tap to play the card, but all too often the game selects a different card than the one you have tapped. This leads to a very frustrating experience at times. It also let's you attempt to select a card when your turn is being skipped, leading to more confusion and frustration. When you have a large number of cards they also get hard to navigate, taking way too many swipes to move from one end of the stack to the other. The GUI feels a little amateurish overall. The author should have copied the Xbox Live interface a little more than they did.

Conceptually, this is a 5 star, but currently, it's a 3 start, so I went with 4 stars. It works well mostly, but occasionally it will not let you select the proper card, finally you give up in anger and play another card. They card is highlighted, it just won't let you double click or drag it. Also, occasionally the player will not be allowed to see their own cards. This usually happens when no cards can be played, it happens late in games. And unfortunately, the first players had is exposed to the other players when the game starts. Please fix these issues and it will be great.

The developers really need to fix the hit testing for card selection and movement. As noted by others, half the time you either select the wrong card, or go to try to move a card and it doesn't move. Otherwise, it's a well done game with good graphics, but due to the gesture problems, it can be frustrating to play.

After picking up Scrabble and Heads Up Holdem HD, I was itching for another great One Device multiplayer game. Unfortunately, UNO HD isn't it. First of all, it's the basic iphone app with higher resolution. No polish or any graphical improvements appear to have been done. This is especially true of the interface buttons. Second, upon finally dropping into a one device MP game, your cards are visible to the other player(s). This pretty much ruins the UNO experience. The cards are quite large on the playing field, and in a two player game, you really can't even cover them up cus it uses landscape mode. UNO HD should take a tip from Scrabble and Heads Up Holdem. Either release a UNO hand app, or drop the cards down in resolution and allow for the cards to be hidden by default. Also, the meath of selecting cards seem really clunky. I don't remember it being that way in the iphone app, but it could just be the larger size and lame upscaling. All in all, $5 seems way to much for this. I'm not sure I'm on the "it should be an universal app", but if all you do is give the same programmed upscaled, you shouldn't charge another $5. My only hope is that someday this app is improved :(

I love UNO but this game needs ALOT of improvement. First off, there is no excuse for the lag when trying to drag a card from your hand. The iPad is much more powerful and in turn should make the game more smooth. Secondly, the one device multiplayer is broken. The game should start off with all cards flipped over until the player hides his cards. Also even when a player hides his cards, but the cards expand so the player can see all if them, it is practically impossible to hide all of them when a player has small hands. Please gameloft, you make really high quality apps, but UNO just seems really rushed and needs to be improved.

I had the UNO free program which was fun, so I bought this one. It doesn't work. Once the application loads and it says to touch the screen to start playing, it crashes. I delete the UNO free, perhaps they share some data files and that affected it?! Gameloft has no technical support - their support page redirects to iPad apps that they are selling. I have reported the problem to apple, but doubt I will get my $4.99 back from this company. Don't take a chance on this program unless they update it.

I find that I don't play this game much because there's no way to speed up the play of the computer players. It takes a long time to play, and I get bored.

This is a good example of an app which was programmed with a multi-platform tool like flash. It is absolutely not designed for the iPad. It is hard to use and very slow for some basic tasks. You can feel that there is something between the user interface and the iPad OS. I hope Gameloft learns something from our reviews and fixes Uno HD. Did they ever try to play it themselves? I am very disappointed. I get angry while playing it because it is even difficult to play a card.

While this could be a decent app, the interface makes it feel like a portable electronic game system from the 90's with slightly better graphics. Card selection implementation is clumsy at best (the interface glitches as cards are dragged, and multiple taps are required to submit a card to the stack). In addition, the game gives you no options for changing game rules (by default you're forced to play certain cards like change color, etc). Worst of all, this game is very overpriced for the limited features it offers. Do not buy!!

This game is broken. Many times a touch a card and swipe toward the drop pile only for the game to randomly select a different card from my hand to play. It also doesn't help that the card UI is horrible to begin with. I hope Gameloft fixes this game. I would wait until a later version to buy.

Not nearly as fast as the iPhone version, am hoping for an update. Real lags, at moments, when one can do nothing, are not really acceptable.
