Even after the 1.1 fixes for importing power points it still crashes on even simple imports of ppt from my drop box account. Not anywhere near ready for frontline business usage.

Apple still doesn't want to accept that most the world runs on windows.... No support for PowerPoint in this update... Lame... Still holding on to a small hope that we might get PowerPoint support by next fall...

This needs to have PowerPoint export ability. Great program but disappointed that I can't send it back to my computer. I thought this was the whole point of not only this program but also pages and numbers. You have pages right apple but not keynote or numbers. I was going to buy numbers but not until it supports excel exporting. Fix immediately!!!!! Still no support for PowerPoint exporting!!! Importing has been greatly improved, but there are still a few bugs with how the slides appear, squiggly lines for example. Need to have the ability to create new slides using the add button that are the same slide design as imported from PowerPoint. Almost there Apple, just a little more work. I will give an extra star for each problem fixed.

Please explain to me why when you have it in presentation mode, why it wouldn't display on the ipad as well as the projector? Major issue. One can't present like this. Let alone can't use a clicker either on this thing yet. Please hurry and fix. Other than that, great app but the point of it is easier presentations and were still lacking in many areas for that.

Without real powerpoint integration I think Apple is missing the point of a connected world. I need more than the ability to present and share presentations with my Apple co-workers. Also there still seems to be some crashing with this app. So I'm looking forward to giving it a higher rating when it starts behaving like a complete business solution for presentations on a mobile device. It's pretty good but severely flawed when it comes to file sharing.

What are Apple thinking? This is just a toy for those with nothing much to do with their time. Serious Presentation people need at least the BASICS that Keynote for the mac contains such as Hyperlinks. Can't believe it won't work in Portrait either. Seriously disappointing :-(

Keynote was an already great app, but with this update it gets even better, with support for more languages, some important improvements when importing presentations from keynote and PowerPoint, and also improved stability. Great job!

Doesn't import your speaker notes. While I understand this a 10 dollar app, I don't understand why this feature is absent. Apple should eIther charge more or be more clear in their promotion of keynote that it is a basic program. You are better off exporting your presentation to PDF than using keynote in it's current state.

If you are going to use Keynote for making a simple presentation at your child's school then this product is fine. If you are looking for presentation software to use in a business environment with the iPad you will be very disappointed with this software. Now, before I get the lecture from some of you purists that the iPad was never meant to be a substitute for a computer, I am well aware of that fact. I didn't purchase an iPad to replace my computer. I understand that the iPad has limitations. I am prepared to deal with those. That being said, there are still some basic functions that any presentation software should be able to handle. Two that are at the top of my list are: 1. Any prevention software should have the ability to show the same thing that is being shown through the projector on the display of the device. I'm not talking about presentation notes or future slides. I'm talking about showing the exact same thing. The displays should at least mirror each other. To have to turn around and look at the presentation screen and turn your back to your audience to find out where you are in a presentation is very unprofessional. An unprofessional trainer will not last very long. Keynote shows a blank screen on the iPad display during presentations. 2. Having the ability to advance slides using a Bluetooth remote has become an industry standard. You can't pair a Bluetooth remote with the iPad for this purpose. Apple is still missing the mark with Keynote. I am really disappointed that the software engineers at Apple haven't created a better product. The motto with Apple has always been, "It just works". That usually meant that when it worked it worked very well. Slick. Functional. Usable. Unfortunately, Keynote for the iPad falls miserably short of what would be considered normal Apple standards. It is not well thought out and it is definitely not user friendly.

I'm really surprised to see some people complaining about this app ! Come on, it's just incredible to have this level of quality on a mobile device ! So guys, keep cool, the export to Powerpoint will arrive eventually ... ( although personally I don't use it that much anymore since I switched to Keynote)

Because I for one, probably along with many others, would return it. This is like a Child's version of a business program. It's not ready for prime time by a long shot. Who would distribute a presentation program that can't run automatically!

This app isn't bad, but PowerPoint exports are a must. You can export Office docs in Pages, but not in Keynote? Please add this

Just because MS software is bloated doesn't mean that iWorks has to be so sparse. For just 2x the price for the three iWorks apps, one can buy the student version of Office with probably 100x more features (really). Please just a few more. I really do want to replace my laptop.

Until Keynote and Numbers can be exported to PowerPoint and Excel, these apps - and by extension the iPad - will not be a serious tool for business. This disappoints me as an iPad owner and as an Apple shareholder. By not correcting this shortcoming, Apple has squandered an opportunity to seek market inroads among potential business purchasers. I hope Apple's programers are even now working to correct this in the next update of these otherwise excellent apps.

Very disappointing second effort. Nothing really fixed for all of our complaints. I don't remember anyone asking for more languages or better alignment. We want features we had in the Mac version of Keynote. We also want our notes and unsupported data in the original Keynote files to not be destroyed! The VGA adapter is pointless right now too. Sure you can display the presentation, but the controls are silly as compared to Mac version of Keynote. Constructive criticism? Guys, just copy Keynote on the Mac. Until then it is a worthless product.

I'm hoping this app gets much better over time. This is the most disappointing product I've ever purchased from Apple. It feels like it was rushed out the door. I do a lot of public presentations, and all my work has been done in Keynote since it was first introduced. Many of the reviews involve frustrations with PowerPoint compatibility, which I would have expected. I had this vision of using the iPad to drive my Keynote shows rather than my MacBook Air. This app on the iPad is not ready to deliver. It took several tries to move one of my keynotes over to the iPad. The resulting import looks very different than the original. There were a number of photos missing. A key piece of a graph did not make the move. And only one out of the two imbedded videos survived. All photos came from iPhoto and both videos were created with iMovie. There is not a 1 to 1 compatibility with slide transitions between the iPad version and iWork version, which I could live with. The builds within the slides were mostly screwed up, and I'm not sure they can be recreated to match what happens in the iWork version. The variety and strength of these builds is one of Keynote's best features. Finally, there is the issue of controlling the show. Unless you are prepared to stand in a stationary position (like of podium) and swipe the iPad screen, you better be doing 1 slide shows. The lack of a remote is something I did not consider when I purchased the iPad, but it is a big barrier to using it for delivering presentations. It looks like Apple had this notion of users creating Keynote content on the iPad itself and showing it to somebody sitting next to them more so than importing shows created on a Mac and delivering to a large audience. Here's hoping the app gets better over time because it would be fun to leave the laptop at home.

Keynote has very fine usability and design layout BUT it could be risky to use for a presentation at work. What if you did a double tap by mistake and closed the presentation in the middle, in front of your manager and your manager's manager. Not good... Seems weak on going back and forth to Internet links. Not obvious how to do talk notes. Need smooth ways to switch to supplemental slides - to answer a question or to add extras if there's time. Need ALL the PowerPoint functions if you want worker bees to rely on it... My husband used to give talks to executives and customers at our Fortune 500 company before we retired. Some of these comments are from him.
