	The ability to scribble notes works great. However, you can't type, add photos, change brush size or color, and most importantly---you can't save your notes under any kind of title. It just saves by the date a note is opened. If you accidentally hit the "x" while drawing, then it deletes all that you just wrote down. And there is no way to retrieve this lost info. There are no options whatsoever. You just write or draw. That's it! Not really useful as a note taking app. Too bad really.

	Updated review I gave this one star prior because it's so deficient in features that even free apps and apps made for little kids have, but mainly because of the nasty bug that crashes the app when you attempt to email a notebook over a certain size. I reported the bug. Today the fixed version is out....and the bug still exists, rendering my notebooks useless since I can't send them. Don't charge for an app that's this bad, please.

	I'm so sorry to add this one star review for it. But, actually , after my first opening , I never use this application again. Really bad for take note on class. The word is too big to note something even use a iPhone stylus pen for it. So, improve it.

	PenUltimate is a no frills app that does exactly what they say: it logs notes, doodles, sketches, etc. via finger or stylus. I, exclusively, use it to take notes during meetings with no complaints, but I'm interested to see the new features!

	This may have potential, but falls short of achieving it at this point. It's really a shame because this app looks better than most of it's competition. However, function outweighs fashion in this case. I only bought the iPad because I needed to simplify the process of lugging around an exorbitant amount of notebooks and text books. Taking notes during a three hour lecture is hard enough, but factor in the limitations this app adds and you have numerous problems. I'm confused because I followed the advice of Apple store employees and online reviews for this app, as well as the Pogo stylus. Both fall utterly short of the hype, though. As an architecture major, I pride myself in both neatness and penmanship. With this app, though, I am robbed of both. You can't rest your wrist on the iPad while writing because the contact throws off the contact with the stylus. Furthermore, it creates any number of dots and unintentional marks that you have to go back and erase. I literally spent more time correcting these errors than I did actually listening to the professor and comprehending the material. I typically write faster than I type, but find it opposite in this case. That being said, why can't I type in this app? And I had to keep my wrist elevated above the iPad while I attempted to take legible notes. Have you any idea how awkward and unnatural that feels? Now try doing that for three hours... carpal tunnel has nothing on that! I shouldn't have arthritis at this age, but I'm well on my way at this rate. The Pogo stylus should NEVER be recommended for anything this intricate. It's like trying to write a fine line with the eraser end of a pencil. A stylus with a finer tip would be a notable improvement, but still doesn't solve the problem with resting your wrist. I even tried to just write with my finger, but that felt even more awkward. In the end, I missed about half of the lecture and had to borrow notes for the rest of it, AFTER having gone back and correcting all of my previous notes. I'd also like to have the option of creating a folder for a specific subject and then be able to catalog the notes from each class beneath it. I don't think I'll hold my breath for that one, though. This app seems to be about simplicity, but the price doesn't reflect that. I thought I bought a product, so where's the content?

	I really wanted to like this app and hoped it would be great to take notes on, and as far as the developer's efforts to make that possible it seems they've done the best they can with the device (i'd give them 5 stars for that). But the problem with the iPad and taking notes is that even with a stylus the whole screen is touch sensitive and you can't accidentally touch it with other parts of your hand while you try to write or it leaves unintended marks. I don't know about you but I typically place the edge of my hand on paper when I write and just move my fingers, but with the iPad you have to constantly keep your hand elevated. Maybe this seems normal for someone who say writes with frosting on cakes, but for regular paper writing it's a problem and also makes it difficult to take notes in the size (font size?) you typically write. The notes I can take end up being huge and I run out of room quickly. So 5 stars for the developer's efforts but 1 star for the iPad's hardware issues with taking notes...coming out at 3 stars.

	I like the look of the app, and the virtual gel ink is nice, but there are various interface elements that annoy me. First I would move the Undo and Redo buttons away from the "My Notebooks" button (aka Exit document button) on the top left. They should be down below with the Pen/Eraser/Clear buttons as a visual icon like in the Brushes painting app. That makes MUCH more sense layout wise. The X icon (clear page) is what various people I've shown this too assumes Undo would be. Maybe that should be moved up top with a text button like "clear" or the icon should be changed to a Trash Can and kept down below. Also when using the "clear page" function, it would have been cute to make it animate the page tearing out and crinkling up into a paper ball... a missed opportunity. With the "New Notebook" button on the top left in the exact same position as the "My Notebooks" button when in editing mode means if you click "My Notebooks" to exit a notebook you can easily click "New Notebook" by mistake (for example a double tap by mistake). While Apple's Pages app has the same button placement, a double tap does not cause it to create a new notebook. So they must be flushing all tap events during the transition from edit mode to document viewer mode. In Pages there is a screen zoom animation that transitions between the modes, which gives enough time to prevent double taps from registering. Also missing from the notebook viewer mode is a "new document" icon down below with the forward and trash icons. Pages has this too, which is where I'd expect it. As for viewing your notebooks in document viewer mode, it's slow to scroll from notebook to notebook with the animations. If you don't have a good name for your notebook, you also have to wait for the notebook to open so you can see the page that you were writing on. Why not allow the user to write on the cover? You could then quickly see a cover view without waiting for the animation of the notebook opening to see inside. Finally it would be nice to be able to adjust the default marker size (I think it's too think sometimes) -- maybe just 2 or 3 sizes to keep it simple, and a few simple color options would be cool as well. Not a full color wheel... too complex. Just a simple red, blue, green or black option. But all in all a decent start.

	I agree with everyone else on these reviews. This App should be free or it should be integrated with an organizational App. I got caught up in the frenzy of buying Apps for my new iPad, but this one is a total waste of money!

	Even with a stylus, it's like writing with a tree branch with a hand missing two fingers. I'd be lucky to fit two sentences per page. I would guess Dunder Mifflin has nothing to worry about as paper is still king. Don't waste your money on this app. Spend it at the dollar store on a legal pad and a few pencils.

	Very responsive and looks great! I love using this to teach my brother with his homework. Instead of writing on the homework to teach math problems or grabbing a paper or pencil, I just use this app that makes it interesting in my little brothers eyes that has him focus and do the math problem by writing on the screen. Better than the other notes app due to it's responsiveness. I tried the other notes app that allows you to write and it's not as responsive as this one. Very well made app. Please add more features though.

	My main problem with this app is my inability to zoom or change my pen size, otherwise this is far better than most other not taking apps. The reason it earns a one star review is the aforementioned pen problem. I need to write out calculus notes and with this app a single problem can take multiple pages. Right now the best handwriting UI software is adobe ideas, a free app made for drawing. It astounds me that this app has recieved positive reviews when it's actual usefulness is so limited. I'm using paperdesk to take notes. It's not perfect, but it's usable for any of you who need to write out notes like I do.

	I like the smoothness of the "ink", but it's more like trying to write with a marker than gel ink. The lines on the page are just for show rather than practicality; actually trying to write on them and have your notes fit and look neat and straight is pretty much impossible. You can really only fit about three legible sentences at the most on a page. I think the ability to zoom and control ink radius would would make this app phenomenal.

	Functional for quick jots, but that is about it. Think rectangular BugMe sticky notes without the alarm. No search, no tagging, no typewriter text; it's true to form digital ink on iPad paper. Simplicity is good, but Penultimate is not next to last ultimate. Wanna see past pages? flip, flip, flip A lot of screen real estate is wasted in notebook view and landscape has a jarring page cut off in edit view. Very pretty, moleskinney like feel but desperately needs a zoom feature to get more scribbles on the canvas or a way to move scribbles but that would detract from the faux feel of pen and paper. Tough balance. Riding on good looks does account for a lot and so far stable.
