NOVA on the iPhone was a little cramp. Now, with the iPad's bigger screen, the game is perfect. Learning curve takes about 5 minutes of gameplay to get used to, once you get that down, it's smooth sailing. I'd recommend this app for anyone that has an iPad. Well worth the $9.99 price tag.

I almost didn't but this because of the price and the reviews that mentioned that the controls were weird-BUT-this game is well worth it and the controls (although they take some getting used to) are customizable. Great game-well worth the $10!

Nova Hd is just like halo for the iPad! it has so many levels and is extremely fun! I'm not just saying this from the screenshots I do own an iPad and this game. very recommended!

Nova is great game but seriously the controls are very difficult to use on the iPad. The toggle buttons are to small you should have the choice to double the size of the button. The storyline is good and the multiplayer is fun. The multiplayer is my favorite part of Nova. Gameloft if you are reading this I think you should be able to have your own custom classes so you don't have to pick up the guns. I would like this because when I am playing multiplayer I get into really close combat I would like to have a shotgun to take the enemy out with.

The game reminds me of a mix between Halo and Quake. The multiplayer is very fun, although there is usually no "fraglimit" or way to see the fraglimit. I do like to have a goal. Another small problem with the multiplayer is there isn't a way to text chat with the enemy, which I think would have been nice. The single player is fun, the graphics are amazing, but the controls are very difficult. I wish there were just one button on the side of the iPad/iPhone to use for a trigger. If you customize your controls you can put the shoot button at the top right corner of the screen and tap it with your pointer finger, while using your thumb to turn. I seem to blow away everyone using this setup, but my hand becomes sore after a while. The game is great, I'm just kind of disappointed in Apple that they couldn't add one button on the side of the iPad to make games like this easier to shoot on. Maybe the volume control button as shoot, but I don't think it's possible. As a side note, I don't understand why John Carmack didn't add multiplayer Internet to "iphone doom" like this game has. He said multiplayer over 3g was "not acceptable" due to latency, but I play this on my iphone 3gs all the time with no issues over 3g. I'd like to see some classic games like quake 1/2 with the added multiplayer "online" support like this has. This game seems to get it right and Id software / other companies could really use this as an example for future projects with multiplayer. I just hope gameloft updates some of these small issues and maybe ads the chatting and different game modes like rocket arena :) Well worth the $10

It's like playing Halo on the iPad. It has online multiplayer that is very addictive very addictive as well. The controls work very well for a FPS.

Good game. Nice graphics and a Halo-like atmosphere with some good action. The voice acting is horrible and the story isn't pretty bland, but the gameplay is very fun. Big problem with the game is the control, which ruins the experience. Biggest problem is the movement (forward, backward,strafing)...in many occasions instead of moving, I end up looking around with my left hand instead because I barely miss the move stick and since I move with the left and look around the with the right and you toss the grenade with 2 fingers, when I miss the move stick, I'll throw a precious grenade by accident and this happens a lot...very bad design decision. Why even have a stationary move stick? Why not have the left side of the screen be for movement and the right side of the screen for looking, so anywhere you touch on the left have will be for movement, no need for a stationary stick. This would solve A TON of problems with the controls of the game and make the experience a whole lot better...and no more accidentally throwing precious grenades. I hope to god Gameloft fixes this and adds an option like this in the control scheme. If Gameloft didn't add the ability to move the buttons around, the control of the game would have been more frustrating, so kudos to that idea.

cool app BUT I am extremely unhappy that you chose to charge me twice by making an iPad only "HD" version. Like many devs you will defend yourselves by citing some type of technical issue. This is pure hogwash and as myself and many others have stated you are just milking your customers for a buck, shame on you. I personally will not be purchasing any more "Gameloft" titles for this reason, and I am giving you ONE STAR to remember me by. Best of luck...

Awesome game, fully utilizes the ipads potential for gaming. Only thing I could say is maybe make the controls a bit tighter as far as layout, in heavy battle the buttons can feel a bit cramped. Other than that, love it.

This game makes the iPad feel like a gaming console. You can move the controls around to fit better. The controls take getting used to about 30 minutes or so. The online play is great and the storyline is fun.

It's OUTRAGEOUS that Gameloft charges full price for the SAME story arc as the original NOVA. The (small) graphical updates & additional sound design are nice, but not worth paying for essentially the SAME GAME TWICE! Original users should have at least been given a discount on upgrading, if we were to be charged AT ALL. I love this game, hell, my 6 year old daughter loves this game (much to my wife's chagrin). It's with regret that I can not in good conscience give this wonderful game the 5 stars it deserves. p.s. The game still has the odd graphical glitches that plague this game, glitches that anyone who's played it to the end more than once have undoubtedly seen. Paying TWICE for the SAME bugs & freezes? FAIL.

All those 1s you are seeing are coming from the same issue. For some people, this game simply will not start at all. It plays the intro movie and then aborts as it tries to start the game. Hopefully, you will be lucky and your copy will not behave like this on your iPad. There is a major bug.

I was waiting until I could read people's reviews so I could make sure that I bought the best game possible so I just bought this game. Let me tell you - it's the best app I've seen. From racing graphics to productivity apps - this is the most beautiful one I've found and the perfect thing to showcase this device. Highly recommend this to anyone.
