This update fixes a few problems we found since testing on iPad hardware.

* Pro Tools no longer gives HUI communication errors

* Fader and jog wheel movement is now instant

* Time display has higher resolution (e.g. hours, minutes, seconds, frames now possible in Logic)

* Time display is now compatible with almost every DAW software package

* Track name labels are easier to read

* Current mode is shown in the time display

* Jog/cursor mode is remembered for next launch

Description

The AC-7 Pro brings full touch control to your music mixing and recording sessions.

Features:

* 2 way wifi communication enables "flying faders"

* Track level meters for monitoring peaks

* Dedicated modes for Apple's Logic, MOTU's Digital Performer and ProTools. There is also a general MC mode for use with other software which uses the MCU protocol.

* Track names can be updated automatically from your recording software

I followed the instructions, weak as they were, precisely, yet I cannot get this software to work with Pro Tools 8 on Windows. In fact, I cannot even get Pro Tools to load while running the server in the background. Pro Tools hangs on startup! This is simply unacceptable, and until these issues are resolved, it gets a one star rating from me. It's a SHAME that there are no refunds in the app store, as this app is completely useless to me as is; an utter waste of $9.99.

Wish I could give this product a good review. But with protools 8 on a MacBook Pro, the faders were very slow to respond, and protools continually lost track of the controller and forced me to restart. As soon as this software becomes even marginally stable, I'll gladly add in a few more starts

This is probably one of the coolest apps I've bought yet. Almost worth the IPAD itself. EVERYTHING WORKS THE WAY IT SHOULD ! This is a must have APP for Producers . It's a nice look with a laptop and I can't believe it's only 10 bucks ! WELL DONE

Installed this on my win xp running cubase 5 and it is amazing. Two way communication is instantaneous and gives you remote control access to your daw. Windows requires an additional (free!) software download but everything installed and ran exactly as the instructions said. This works great as a remote to start/stop recording from an iso room. Future updates are supposed to provide more functionality to specific programs (like cubase) so it's only going to get better....and right now it's already amazing!

Excellent app, but requires a few steps to get up and running. Info is on developer's Web site, but still took me a little while. Using it with Logic Pro on two separate systems-- one upgraded G4 running 10.4 and one MBP with 10.5. Works perfectly on both. (using computer-to-computer network works best ) Just replaced my UC-33 controller, which never seemed to work that well with Logic anyway. Now I have dynamic feedback via midipipe too... Much cheaper than a Lemur or almost any other touch-based controller! I can now record/edit solo from behind the drumkit... or from another room..... or from behind a sitar.... the list goes on! Thank you Saitara.

I think this is actually a scam. It doesn't work. There is NO DOCUMENTATION ANYWHERE. Not on their website, not on the web. There is a web video of a suspect shill saying how great it is. Nothing else. Lovely. I've also read it makes Pro Tools CRASH, as in, you need to reinstall the software. Doesn't work & may crash your system. Nice job.

I use on Win7 and Cubase. Win requires additional 3rd party software, the best of which (and only Win7 x64 compatible) costs about $20. Once configured it works pretty well although in MC mode I am unable to get the time code to work. Be aware that the track renaming doesn't work in Windows either. All in all a nice cheap solution and wireless is nice; however needs a few things added to be excellent. Update: Time still doesn't display on Cubase 5 using 1.01

Parts of it don't work or produce unpredictable results (especially the buttons). Track names display a lot of garbage. Overall it feels like a beta release. It's gonna be great when they make it work.

I love it when I'm legitimately impressed by technology. This app is impressive and actually works really well. I intended to use the app for Ableton Live 8, but tried it first with a project I'm working on in Acid Pro 7. I know next to nothing about MIDI, so it took a little bit of research to get it configured, but in short order it was up and running. The WiFi response is instantaneous, which I was skeptical about going in. Running faders is nice, but it is especially helpful just triggering a recording with a simple touch of a button when I've got a guitar in hand. Nice work!

After 20 years of recording experience there is no doubt in my mind that pro tools is not the most stable daw in the market, so those who venture in developing apps like this one are always in for a big surprise, so Blaming this app alone is not a fair review. The app on paper looks just perfect, however there is no support whatsoever and nothing that would point you out in the right direction if you find yourself lost during the installation process, you really need to be an experienced and advance user to set this up, and still, I have not only being unable to set this up but also crashed my pro tools altogether, I brought it back by deleting all the extra plug ins that you will need and then when i try again same thing happens and i find myself back in to square one. Maybe one day will work, today this looks underdeveloped and after 4 hours of coping with inconveniences i rather give up.

This app is a MUST HAVE for Logic users! I can't believe how well this works. I recommend using the "Mackie Control" model / "Logic Control" module. You also need to download a couple 3rd party apps, but i found those through this developer's website. Way worth the $10!!!

This is an awesome app that has drawn the loudest wows when I control faders on the C|24 from across the room, but I haven't found myself using it regularly for anything practical yet because it is still a little glitchy. I'm running protools 8.1.1 on Mac Pro, haven't tried with Logic or DP, seems like Protools is the most problematic DAW for this app from other reviews and my experience. The app doesn't always update all of the information from protools when moving between tracks or banks (scrolling left or right). I noticed this problem mostly when the active track name part of the app is running. When I leave the track naming off, I rarely have problems, but when working with 20+ tracks, it's impossible to work on this app without being able to see the track names. The fact that two separate server programs have to run to host different parts of the program may be creating problems - or perhaps just one of them needs to be tweaked. In either case I'm still fairly happy with the purchase, it's not unusable, and I have faith that these remaining wrinkles will be ironed out.

If I'd known how handy it was to use a control surface instead of a mouse to mix audio in FCP, I would have bought a Mackie Mixer a long time ago. Glad I didn't, because AC-7 Pro is a delight to use, not to mention more portable and affordable that the hardware alternative. Nice work, Mr. Asakura!

I replaced my Logic Control with a Tranzport wireless controller a while back. I love it, but I really missed the Logic-specific features such as Click on/off, scrub, and zoom. I now have all of those again with this incredible app. It's as if my studio is straight out of Star Trek the Next Generation. One suggestion: double-tap a fader to return to unity gain. That would make it perfect. Thanks!

PROTOOLS ONLY REVIEW. * I am familiar with Protools and The Setup help on the web site will confuse any novice. * Very Poor Set Up guide - I can't stress this enough * Master Fader Disabled * Counter Does NOT work _too bad * Limited Features Faders/transport/mot/solo/select/zoom/scrub/meters and that's it for Protools!!! * Not Recommended * - but it's only $10.00 Save your money and go buy a game or two.

Awesome app for the price. Great interface and very easy to set up with Logic. Fader resolution/response is nowhere close to what it needs to be for pro automation use but still this is a very useful program.
