Magic Window 2.0 comes with 20 scenes. Three of those scenes are packaged with the application. The remaining scenes can be downloaded free of charge from the application. If a scene hasnt been downloaded a preview is available. You will need 1500MB space to store all scenes. You can freely delete and redownload scenes as many times as you want.
You can change scenes while downloading and also queue other downloads while downloading. No need to wait around for a download to complete - just hop on over to another scene.

Magic Windows is easily one of my favorite iPad apps -- everything about it is so beautiful and soothing. Love it for its relaxation and meditative benefits... prop it up on my desk and enjoy the sights and sounds!

This app (much like Thicket) is a pretty unique thing. The photography is amazing, the ability to put up a subtly changing scene is something I've never seen before. Take note, those that think this is just a video player: it's not at all, it's something else entirely. I now have my iPad sitting on my desk, showing Mike McCabe's beautiful work as a sort of changing window out into the world. I love it! update for version 1.1: added in five more scenes. The Utah sunset is spectacular, Costa Rica has gentle lapping waves while the stars slowly move. Mesmerizing. A bunch of minor fixes seems to have made the app a bit tighter and responsive and the clock now just sits in the corner. I can't believe it could be any more perfect, but it is!

This is a really nice app. I have always thought how awesome it would be to have an app that shows a nighttime scene in the city, or a nighttime water scene going into sunrise. I am amazed by this app and very thankful it was created. With that said, I do have some issues with this app: First, many scenes need more frames. I am a photographer and I understand that some of the scenes need longer shutter speeds so it may be difficult to capture more frames per second, but this can easily be achieved by using fast lenses and higher sensitivity. The cameras being produced these days can go pretty high with minimal noise. When you see cars in the night scenes, they are just centimeter streaks. Second, the darker scenes could be rendered with higher quality compression and still keep the size down - especially since they are mostly downloaded after the app is purchased. Sound effects would also be awesome. Sure, these aren't video recorded files, but samples could be added. I understand that the files are made by different people, but Jetson Creative could step up the requirements (or maybe have low and hi quality options). I still recommend this gorgeous app. I am still giving it 5 stars, as my issues are trivial and more personal issues rather than actualy problems with the app. Great job overall.

Dont believe the first so many reviews. Like many apps when they come out you may see short and sweet 5 star reviews. I will leave it to you to figure out how this happens. :) The farther down you scroll through the reviews, the stars will start falling out of the sky. They also get a second chance by updating to get their stars back up by the current version tab. It does the same thing. :) The app is pretty lame to tell the truth. Jerky video, still the downloads are painfully slow. Not worth the space on your Ipad anyways. First they said it was a bargain at $2.99 and it was normally $9.99!!! that's funny. Now they say it is on sale but it will go up to $3.99!! This too is funny. I now say it shouldn't go beyond .99 cents. My opinion- don't buy it at all.

I don't see the big deal with this app. The series of pics is not very appealing. Video would much better. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Living Desktop for Mac. This app is just OK. Nothing too "magical" about it.

Just took a chance on this, after looking on their website. I absolutely love it. One of the apps I show everybody when showing off my new PADD. I often leave this on for hours, with my own music library playing. Not just one beautiful scene or a morphing slideshow like using my own pictures. This is a speed-adjustable time-lapse view, like sitting and watching a beautiful sunset, or clouds rolling by or a fire or etc. I didn't realize they've already added new scenes and this bodes well for future updates. Worth every penny and more.
