OmniGraffle 1.7 for iPad set the stage for document syncing by introducing a new document browser and making a number of behind-the-scenes changes to coordinate access to documents. It also introduces new application, document, and inspector icons, along with other improvements and bug fixes. (This release requires iOS 5.)
New Features
• New Document Browser — Weve created a new interface for viewing and managing your documents. Some key features: A new matrix or grid-based view of your documents for easier access when you have a large number of files, the ability to select multiple documents for deletion, etc. when in Edit Mode, and included stencils can now be deleted from the application altogether if not needed (with the ability to restore them from the Import button in the upper left of the Document Browser toolbar).
• Weve introduced a new application icon for OmniGraffle for iPad, along with generic document and stencil icons, as well as placeholder images to match.
• The Style Inspector popover has a new set of icons for each section.
• A new artistic fill style, Squiggle, has been added to the Fill Inspector popover.
• Opening of .zip archives should now be handled by the application itself and not by the operating system.
Bug Fixes
• Fixed a bug where radial fill types would render differently on the iPad than they did on the Mac.
• The Unit Scale stepper field now has better looking plus and minus symbols.

	I love OmniGroup's software with passion. Omnigraffle is awesome, but on the iPad, it fails to become more-than-awesome. Omni, please re-think the interface to take better advantage of multi-touch... For instance, drag handles don't make sense without a mouse. This is a great app, worth every penny... but it could be a revolutionary app, with a bit of rethinking. I can't help but hold OmniGroup to higher standards than mere excellence. Come on, guys, break through!

	The 1.1 update addressed the speed issue very nicely. Omnigraffle is now the best vector illustration / diagramming app I've tried on the ipad so far. Worth every penny — you can produce final quality work.

	Omnioutliner and omnigraffle are the two programs that originally convinced me to get a Mac, so I was very excited to see how omnigraffle looked on the iPad. I hesitated a bit because of the price, but it has already proven to be well worth the money. I'm working on some network installations and was able to take extracts from the blueprints and put them in to omnigraffle documents on my desktop. I then shared these with my iPad, and was abled to annotate the documents in the field, rather than scribbling on drawings, and then having to markup the electronic copies on my desktop. Im still getting the hang of the interface, but was able to be productive on day one. Now if they'd just hurry up and get omnifocus for the ipad done :)

	This would be a great example of price not being indicative of value. When desktop comparable apps like Numbers, Pages, etc... are priced right around $10, at minimum, I expected an application with that provided that level of complexity or an application that would wow me with the ability to simply generate awe inspiring charts. This has not been my experience. If you are looking for a scratch pad that has the ability to add different shapes and/or don't care about cost - this app will do the trick. What is provided in the samples will either take a great deal of experience to generate or a great deal of time. The only excuse that I can find appropriate for the high price of this application is that they misplaced the decimal. If I were to place an Application Equivalent Value (AEV) "newly coined phrase" I would say it would range between $4.99 to $9.99. The upper range would assume that updates are in process. There are so many applications on the iphone and the ipad that far exceeded my expectations and were very reasonably priced. These applications have had a positive impact on my life or productivity. I have not found this application to rise to that level. I guess this is the premium to be paid for being an early adopter. Who knows, maybe the company will make enough changes to make my investment worthy in the long run.

	I was holding out to see if there would be a price drop, but finally gave in. I have no impulse control. Man, this just blew my mind. Amazing, and very easy to pick up on. Looking forward to spending more quality time with it, but it looks incredibly powerful and well implemented so far! Coming from a mostly hate-hate relationship with visio, I'm now wondering where this will stop. A new MBP perhaps, and a nice copy of Omnigraffle? Time to work on that non-existent self control. Great job omnigraffle!

	i'm a power user of vizio, and i was very skeptical about the limitations of a touch screen vs a keyboard and a mouse. But i have to say that this application feels like it was originally created just for the ipad an not a stripped down version of its desktop version. It takes some time until you get use to it, but right now i don't feel that i produce designs very slow on my ipad compared to using vizio on my desktop i strongly recommend to use only smart grids One final note: i will never buy the mac version omnigraffle Because i hate mac os. it will only happen if windows os become extinct and i have to pick between google chrome, linux and mac os.... Feature wishlist: ability organize files in folders ability to print create and store custom shapes import shapes or vizio compatible stencils alternate way of zoom in/out and pan redo button more touch shortcuts (undo & redo) would be nice, i liked how autosketch pro implemented these shortcuts) ruler guides like the ones you have in vizio Bugs for version 1.1: frequent crashes (not once i lost my changes, so its not very critical) very frequently hold over text to position cursor displays an empty text_circle_preview double tab to edit text on bottom of the screen objects usually hides the object with the poped keyboard if a layer is locked it shouldn't allow it to be shared, because it will loose the layer's original name. (on many occacions i accidentally clicked the share icon)

	Well I was very skeptical when I first saw the price of Omnigraffle for the iPad. But, after a few days playing with it, I do have to say it may even be better than the desktop version. It certainly has room to grow and features to add, but it truly feels like this is the interface that this program has always been meant to have. The multitouch controls are perfect for this application. I am having a blast with the ability to hand sketch out my ideas on a layer and then refine it on a layer above with the Omnigraffle tools and stencils. I have also been able to easily add stencils from Graffletopia. The UI still needs improvement on the stencil side, but it certainly is workable for now.

	I consider myself an early adopter and have been wanting to try out this app for several weeks; the price just kept holding me back. Today I finally gave up and purchased it. After playing with it for 20 minutes I'm sold and don't regret paying the price. This app really shows the potential of the iPad. The GUI is well designed and organizes the app's functionality with simplicity in mind. The era of crowded toolbars is in decline and this app proves it beautifully. Too bad Apple hasn't added a free trial feature to the app store; OmniGraffle would certainly benefit from it. It's a hard decision to pay $50 and rely solely on others reviews. Perhaps a cheaper version with in app purchases to add functionally would have been a better model of business for Omni Group. Even thou the app is not perfect now, I'm giving it 5 stars considering the time they've had to develop for the iPad. It's most certainly a job well done for a first revision. I agree with another review that VGA output is a must.

	I am very pleased with the product. The user interface is very clean and powerful with lots of options just a click away. The amount of design and development that went into this is apparent by how well t is designed, how well the multi-touch screen / gestures is utilized, and how many features there are tucked behind the menus. My only gripes, and they are major functionality gaps, is that the VGA output is not enabled (a big reason I got this was to be able to plug into a projector and do Enterprise Architecture "white boarding" jointly with the customer) and that according to Apple, it is up to the software makers to enable printing which is not something you can do here (a sore point across the board for iPad apps). So, my maine use case for this app is not possible until the VGA output is enabled. Printing is an important, but for me, less vital feature. I love applications itself and recommend it with the caveats listed here.

	I have tried others, this is the best. I was hesitant at first due to the price but the fact that you can download free stencils from graffletopia.com makes this app worth it. Tip: if you are installing stencils first download the trial version of the desktop app. You do not need to actually run the desktop app but the file types are recognized and it makes the installation of stencils easy.

	This is a great app from a great company. I have every confidence that OmniGroup will address problems and enhance the functionality and usability of this app. It is already awesome in the way they have fit so many functions into such a simple interface. PDF export is great for sharing your docs with anyone and they look fantastic in PDF form (just like on-screen). The control is mostly intuitive, but some issues are there. I rate this five stars for what it does, but I note some issues here to help the prospective buyer: - Sometimes the control feedback is missing. Tapping an object is different than tap-hold-release, which takes some time to get used to. - OmniGraffle is a mature product on the Mac. The iPad version has a few compatibility problems with third-party stencils, like some available at graffletopia.com. When I did run into those problems, I had to uninstall and reinstall the app to fix them. Fortunately, the iTunes file sharing allowed me to save my work before deleting the app and restore them after reinstalling. - Editing object labels is a little clunky- sometimes the text is pushed up too far on the display to see what you are editing and you must type in the dark. This is not a frequent problem, however. - The Mac app allows you to create stencils, while the iPad app does not. Hopefully this will be added to the iPad version soon. You can _use_ custom stencils on the iPad, just not create them.

	I wanted to get this app from day one since I am an Omnigraffle power user but was a little concerned about the price. But as soon as the Omni Group offered a money back satisfaction guarantee, I had nothing to lose. Let's just say that I won't be asking for a refund on this app. The combination of this app along with some of the other productivity apps (Pages, Keynote, etc) has allowed me to ditch my laptop when I travel. The interface is very simple yet powerful. And creating diagrams and wireframes on the iPad is actually fun if you can believe that. This is a powerful business class app and is therefore worth the money in my book. Now I can hardly wait for an iPad version of Omnifocus.
