LOL- this is getting closer to having a real "My Documents" type folder - seems like both GoodReader and Readdledocs are pretty close in features - HOWEVER - I am keeping RD on the iPad until I sort out all the features of each. My assessment: 1. GR opens PDF's, JPG's, and TXT files faster than RD. Much faster for large pix on GR. However RD has some advantages in moving between pix. 2. GR and RD both can create, move, delete files and folders - hard troubles finding the RD folders features at first - my bad! 3. GR is cheaper - hard to imagine that GR is only $1 ! 4. Both drag and drop files via iTunes over USB - both equally good at wifi transfers as well. Close match - may come down to speed, price vs. features. Also curious how these compare with the more expensive Air Sharing. Please review these apps and share thoughts.

Update for 1.0.2: Page flipping with "Readdle PDF Expert" still very slow compared to native PDF reading - approaching 1 second compared to nearly instant. I don't understand why this can't be optimized to make the experience more fluid. Full page mode is nice but only a subtle improvement. Double tapping doesn't zoom margins like one would expect and there is still no horizontal lock. This category is still wide-open but will use this until something better or an improved version comes along. I bought this primarily to read PDFs and this version is improved. I would like to see a horizontal scroll lock button and a settings option to continuously scroll instead of swipe downwards. Page flipping is a bit slow and it requires a very deliberate swipe. That being said as of now this is the best reader - the interface is clean and uncluttered allowing me to do what I want - which is read. In my quest I have purchased many of the apps: GoodReader - too many buttons and clunky page flip and rotation, AirSharing - no TOC (deal breaker), iAnnotate - TOC buried in options and interface gets in the way if you are not annotating.

I tried a few others but like this one the best. I am a business power user and need access to many docs.I like how there are several ways to get to your docs. Excellent filing options like an internal hard drive. Support for core formats. Rendering is excellent, very intuitive, and functional in a native iPad way you would expect. Had some stability issues but not too many to discourage me from using as the value far outweighed any slight inconvenience. This new update seems to fix them so giving it 5 stars. I would like to see rendering support in the future as well as support for 1) more file formats, and 2) somehow being able to download a PDF from a web site that is PDF in browser, a d 3) PDF a webpage and import. Sort of a cross between snag it but will purpose built functionality to PDF a long article since iPad browser doesn't detect that a web page is really a PDF this would address it.

A very fluid PDF, excel, PowerPoint, and word reader. I'm sure there are other documents that it supports that I am not yet aware of. I've tried pretty much all of the other PDF viewers and have been very disappointed for one reason or another. Some had a great viewing system but lacked the ability to import files via email and vice versa. This program combined all those great elements into one.

This app is amazing. I have bought it, goodreader, and airshare pro, and feel that the other two pale in comparison. Is it too much to ask to have an app be both useful and pretty? Not with Readdle. Gorgeous and really functional. The only thing I wish for is a way to download all documents (from dropbox or iDisk) to the app and then push a button to have changes sync. As it is though, it is really easy to download multiple docs. All in all - great app. Buy it and support this company. Right now, the other two document apps are dominating and this one deserves more support.

I bought this app (a bargain too) to read PDF files and to sync my Mendeley journal articles collection on my iPad. This is the only PDF reader I could find which can copy text from the PDF, a huge plus that made it a perfect fit for me.

The new version seems much more stable - I haven't experienced any crashes yet. The app features wide selection of document retrieval options as well as sharing of the documents it already downloaded via the wifi - a very nice feature. The previous version was pretty much useless thanks to the frequent crashes. The new version fixes the crashes and I would say now that this is probably the best app in the store for document viewing.

This is a very nice app, although I really miss the 'open with' function.

somehow nice features and yes, it connects to several repositories. no, as it addresses only bits of normal workflows. It's the mix in local disc, laptop HD and virtual clouds and apps who only can access this or that repository. So you save stuff here, mail it to there, where you sync it with another disk, so you finally can access the file from your home desktop. After the weekend you have to recap how you designed your workflow to manage your stuff, before you can start.

This app fills a huge gap and dramatically increases the functionality of the iPad. The iPad's lack of a file system is a real drawback if you use the device for business. The folks at the Genius Bar always point out that I can use email attachments to store files, but it's a clunky solution. This app let's me set up folders and store files like a laptop. Having local copies of key client files is great! I recommend using this app in conjunction with the filebrowser app, which lets you pick files off other computers or network drives on your network. The combination of these two apps lets me pull key client filed off my file server and store them locally on the iPad before business trips. This app has run very well for me. One or two glitches, but generally intuitive and reliable. Hugely valuable.

I know a lot of people like GoodReader; and it is an OK product. I think the reason a lot of people like GoodReader is because it is cheaper than ReaddleDocs; but honestly I don't think that's a point by which an app should be judged ... unless it's priced unreasonably. The truth is that ReaddleDocs is like a BMW or Mercedes while GoodReader is like a Chevrolet. They both do a lot of the same things; but the look & feel of ReaddleDocs is just better. It's elegant and it's my choice ... hands down.
