Bought this primarily because it is supposed to support searching of any field (Apple's Address Book on iPad and iphone only lets you search name and company.) Unfortunately, this app crashes every time I try to search. Gave it three stars since I'm assuming the developer will fix this asap. Like other features like being able to control display and ease of bulk mailing. Would like to be able to control which other fields appear on list view, such as phone number. Would also like to control which fields appear on card view, somewhat irritating to have to flip card over to see details and notes. Good initial effort, please fix the crashing!

An attractive contacts app with many nice features. The ability to organize with groups might be the best feature, with the bulk emailing coming in second. But what I really love is having the contact photo displayed in the list - wonderful if you're a visual person! The one problem I have with ContactsPlus HD is that pulling up a contact displays only a few fields (like nickname, main phone, main email.) You have to click the View/Edit the Full Profile button in order to see all information. This streamlining is probably good for a lot of people, but it means one extra click every time for me. If there were an option in the settings, I'd give this app 5 stars.

When it worked, it was an improvement over iPad's native app, and I would recommend if it still worked for me; however, now it crashes every time I try to launch it so is of no use at all. Uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't fix it, either.

I cannot figure out how to remove a contact from a group or move them to another group without completely deleting them first. There does not appear to be a users manual or any way to contact the developer other than these comments. In general I love the ability to bulk email and create groups.

I spent 2 hours on a flight assigning contacts to groups I created. The program crashed & the group list defaulted back to the default list erasing all the contacts I had sorted. Not only did it erase them from the app .... It erased the contacts from the outlook database. Hundreds of names. Back up your data your data. Or better yet find a different app.

Very clean and convenient app. You can edit groups in both directions: by which groups a contact belongs to, or, by which contacts belong to a group. Added to this, you get the ability to search (and sort) by almost every contact field, easy editing of all contact fields, and iOS 4 multitasking. This is a true replacement for the built-in app, having every function that I've wanted.

When you attempt to Edit a contact by adding a photo to identify them the program crashes. Once you select the directory where your photo is, the program stops working and exits immediately.

The alphabet or numeric scroll bar only works with names. If you switch to view contacts by zip, city, state or any other the scroll bar doesn't work. I have thousands of contacts. If i have to scroll from a-z or numerically if I'm searching zips or city it takes forever. I'm in sales and when I'm in a certain area I want to see what other customers are in that area. The scroll bar works on the iPhone app why not on the iPad?

It's better than the standard address book from my iPad and it have usefull functionality. For that 3 stars. However, I'm not able to adjust the display list to my likings. My search in an address book is company based, not lastname. I expect that if I choose my primary sort order on company, it have to display the list of companies. I don't want to see any name of any person unless the company is selected. The "display grid" must be user-definable. All this is not happening. To search the company I want, I use the standard "came with ipad" search functionality. Works even better that ContactP 2.

Not a bad app, but...Not a bad app. I like it better than the native iPad app. Some things that would make it better...When you tap on a name, it should just take you to the full profile. As it is, you get a window with basic contact info, then you have to tap again to get the full profile. Plus, you can only edit in the full profile. Then you have to tap all the way back out. Thats just too many taps, especially when you have to edit several. The ability to change the text size is nice, but you can only do that in the main view. When you tap to view more detail, the text is tiny and you cant make it bigger. The main view allows you limited options of what you want to see. If you choose name and phone and you have work phone chosen as the main phone, thats all youre gonna see. If someone doesnt have a work phone and just a mobile phone, the field is blank.Finally, it would be nice to be able to change color schemes. But thats a minor tweak.
