Picked this game up and I'm really enjoying it. It's a basic Match-3 as the title will give you, but the better you do on clearing the board the more money you have to spend on your production. You have to hire all the actors and the behind camera staff. You also need to buy all the props and special effects/lighting needs. The more money you spend the better score your finished movie will have. It tries to give you the experience of "making a movie" and it fails a bit on that, but it does give a nice little twist on the Match-3, much the same way that Paradise Quest did. You basically just place the people and things you buy on the screen/set. There is no real "acting" done, but it is nice to create the scene. You can get the idea of this by looking at the screen shots. My one real (or is that "reel" in this case) problem with the game is that the set is really small. It's hard to move things around because you will try to move an actor and end up moving a set piece. After a while things get really crowded. It would be good if you could zoom in on things and really have a chance to create your scene. The same "smallness" makes it hard to make some of the matches in the game -- big fingered people be warned. A little more of a tutorial would have been a nice help as well since you basically have to figure things out as you go, but it doesn't have a huge learning curve. In the end I like the game, but I am a video producer in the real world so getting to spend a lot of money on a fake production makes me feel better when I have to pinch pennies in the real one. If you're a fan of Match-3 games and movies this game is probably a 4 out of 5. If you like just one of these genres it is a nice 3 out of 5. And if you don't like either of these genres you really should have stopped reading this a long time ago.

Though match 3's aren't usually my favorite, this one's pretty good as it introduces the movie making element. Touch controls work pretty well as the swapping goes pretty quick. I just hire the best crew and place props randomly and the critics rave about it. The specials really help complete a level (dynamite, surprise box, fan).

Simple match 3 game with a unique movie producer twist. Earn achievements and power-ups by matching combos, and destroy gold tile backgrounds to earn money as well as end the round. I don't care much about picking the cast, since you get what you pay for (always pick most expensive it seems), but setting up the scene in between game rounds is fun. Oh, and at first I was worried about sliding the wrong icon due to my fat fingers, but this game has great precision and accurately determines which icon I choose. Definetly reccomend if you like the addictive match 3 genre.

I really enjoy the matching gameplay that TinselTown Dreams has. Trying to get the key to unlock the chest kept me playing endlessly. The other powerups are fun to use too, like letting the popcorn machine overflow! The story mode is nostalgic and let's me relive a very special time in movie making history!

The match 3 puzzles are fun and the powerups like popcorn and the gift boxes are unique. I think the best part is designing the movie sets. It motivates me to do well on the puzzles!

FINALLY!!! Someone finally got a clue as to what people want in a match 3 game. I think all app store match 3 fans have been craving a game like this. It's fun and lively and it has a real POINT, PLOT, and GOAL... a goal other than matching stuff simply for the sake of matching stuff, that is. I was so impressed with this game after completing my first "movie" that I just had to stop and post a review so that others can enjoy this game as well. It's really that good!!! I really find it hard to believe that people feel the need to find a reason to deduct a star for this game. There's just no need for the negativity. One complaint is that the stage is too small but the size of the props (and actors) is altered depending on how near or far from the front they are placed = perspective. You also have the ability to store items in a trunk until you're ready to use them but you don't have to use everything you buy. The premise of this game is that you are helping to save a movie company by making "awesome" movies. You're matching 3 or more to make money for that week's movie budget. As mentioned by others, there are several power-ups available including popcorn (you'll just have to figure that one out!) You then have to buy your props, hire actors and other supporting people such as the director and others. At first I thought that this all sounded overly complicated but after I'd completed the first "movie," I realized that what I was actually doing by placing the people and props on the stage was creating a snapshot of a single moment in time, sort of like making a promo poster for the movie. I do agree that the tutorial could have been a bit more detailed however I figured out that by using the help feature once the game has started provides much more information including what's up with the popcorn. Overall, this really is a great match 3 and as I stated, if you're a fan of the genre, you will not be disappointed. To the devs/designers, you guys did a fantastic job on this one!!!! THANKS!!!!!
