believe me, this is simply the best comic viewer on ipad. My friend tried ten comic viewer apps and recommended this one to me, and I'm very happy with it. it supports .zip and .rar (i haven't tried .rar files yet) jpg files, even if the folder is compressed as a whole. It does not support pdf or epub files. It does not decompress the zip files, and it opens them very quickly. When you turn a page, the delay is also minimal. The picture quality is very good, better than some other comic viewers, even the much more expensive ones. I guess it set the image interpolation smartly. Moreover, the usability is extremely good. There are a lot of controls and functionality, yet they are very intuitive and easy to choose. For example, you can choose * to split a page or not if necessary; * whether to display two pages under landscape mode (and you can choose whether the cover is displayed separately); * whether to show the status bar; * to create folders, and add password to a folder; * whether to swipe to turn a page; * how the tap gestures work; ...... It doesn't have a book showcase, and nor does it have fancy page flip animation. but it is a simple and neat .jpg book viewer. It was developed by Japanese. Keep in mind that japan has a huge (if not the biggest) comic book market. So it's not surprising that they are doing a great job developing a comic book viewer app, and the app will probably keep improving.

The best comic book reading app just keeps getting better with each and every update. I like the addition of the alternate views for viewing one's collection.

Pages load up quick, and there are the usual zoom options to fit the pages by width, height or double pages. I was able to download the zip/rar files from my website or via iTunes. UI is not polished, but the app works for my needs to view mangas on my iPad for only $1.99. Web file sharing doesn't seem to support encrypted connection.

Overall, I give the app a 4-star rating for the iPad. Reading comics on the iPhone is very difficult, so I use my iPad for it. The program does a very good job with reading a variety of formats and I use it because I can read PDF, CBR and CBZ with very few problems. Other apps I've tried experience various issues reading one format or the other, but ComicGlass does the best job in my opinion and experience. Since the 12/9 update, the Edit button no longer works. I think I've reported it on the support site, but it's written in a foreign language so I'm not able to be sure what I did was correct in reporting the problem. The bookshelf view is a HUGE improvement and a much needed feature. My biggest complaint about the implementation is it's impossible to tell if you've read a book in bookshelf view. I would use the feature exclusively if they improved tagging read, in process, or unread on each thumbnail.

Hope to increase the reading files on PC of the WIFI online functionality, and after reading a files why can not jump to the next files automatically. when finish reading, I have to manually click the next files each time, it is not so convenience.

I did a lot of research and came across several contenders (comic viewer, comic zeal, etc.) this one is very straight forward and for $0.99 ( yes you read it right ) you find the best comics reader yet. no need to unrar or convert files, gives you 3 options to load your files ( best one is just to sync it via iTunes ) again for the price you just got to try it right? By the way this is ranked #1 in Japan.

This is the best comic book archive reader on the app store. I've tried almost all of them and the only thing this one doesn't have is a nice iBooks like bookshelf, but really who needs that? Everything else it does is almost perfect or configurable to your preferences. No conversion of books is necessary, folders and folders within folders are possible. Great bookmarking system. I guess if I had to ask for one thing it would be FTP support so I don't HAVE to use iTunes to add books. Keep up the great work!

I admit, I would prefer to keep my app purchases limited to free ones but this changed my view on that. The app covers all my needs perfectly and efficiently without over-powering me with nitpicky settings. I love being able to seamlessly organize my files for viewing as I please. I'm impressed! this is the app that I was looking for since when I bought my ipod touch 3g! I strongly recommend this app. It worth 0.99 I would be glad to see this app supporting fast folder switching between folders in abstracted file.(like when you finish reading folder A it automatically guides you to file 1 of folder B or folder A 1)

After testing all the comic reader apps, I find Comic Glass to be the best by far, because of the combination of performance and the right set of features. Firstly, as a reader, it's intuitive, light and fast and just gets out of the way when you're reading. Devote 15 mins to customising it and you'll never need to disturb your reading to mess with a setting. It's also very good for Manga and Asian comics which read right to left. The new bookshelf mode has put it head and shoulder above other readers for me. Secondly it has a built in downloader (http client) that allows you to download comics both off the web and off your PC or NAS. A lot of comic readers have WebDAV clients, which sounds good but is incredibly slow, not to mention the fact that you have to sit in front of your PC to download comics to the reader. While ComicGlass also can do that, it allows you to set up it's mini server on your PC and browse and download books at your leisure over wifi. Best of all? It's easily 10! times faster than anything else. Finally, the dev is really helpful and responded to my request for a fix in less than a day! If you're looking for a good and reader with the right balance of simplicity and features, this is it!
