Wish it would rotate horizontally when you flipped the phone so the events are easier to read. ALSO, now that the iPhone allows you to turn on and off calendars, it would be nice if you could mimic those settings. I've subscribed to my sister's calendar but I don't need to see it all the time.
Other than that - nice and simple interface that addresses everything I was looking for. Glad it doesn't have all the to-do's and everything else that many of the programs have.
Interface could be better txt size and color selection but fills the need
Got all excited when I saw this. Then I buy it and it tanks every time I add an event. First the calendar compresses to half the screen then it goes blank. It won't come back unless I power down. Very frustrating. Fix the bugs and it's just what I need.
I agree with others. A bit buggy. This isn't ready for prime time. It could be valuable if the developer comes out with future releases that are improved over the existing version. I would hold off from purchasing until the bug are fixed and issues are addressed. Good idea, but the implementation needs to be completed for it to be of quality.
The app is excellent because the iPhone Calendar application lacks of a weekly calendar and "Week Calendar" takes advantage of that. The integration between the 2 applications is good you can enter an appointment in the iPhone calendar app and it will show up on the Week Calendar and vice-versa. However the interface needs improvement in text size and when you set up the hours in 'Day Starts at" and "Day ends at" options the hours it should display are the ones you set up, instead it displays the whole day. I hope this option can be included in future updates.
I have been waiting for this app since iPhone came out & I've Emailed mr. Jobs about this app but this guys have done it & they have done a fantastic job. If anyone uses any calendar on their iPhones then they must buy it. "No you need to buy it."
The screen is good and what I wanted. It craps out though after I make changes. Worth the 99c just for viewing .
Updates have improved app. Now a must have. Pity they cannot integrate directly into native cal.
This is really how I want to view my appointments--so far no bugs, and where I live people schedule according to week numbers, so that's another plus. Simple and clean, has replaced the native calendar app on my home screen and will stay there till it misbehaves. Glad the dev is still releasing updates, keep at it!
P.S. Settings are a bit hidden (tap on gear, then "settings" top right) but allow for great customization, start and end of day, font size, etc. Awesome.
Overall since i have been using this Week Calendar it seems to function quite well, but the screen shots of the events shown in Red & Blue is a bit false. I have yet to find any settings that allows you to change the events colors. Also i would like to see either a way to see the event a bit larger or maybe on the bottom of the calendar with a scroll feature.
This app is a good addition to the default calendar that comes on the phone and it does work as far as creating events and seeing them for the entire week, so i guess if the developer continues to improve on this app it can only get better from here.
I will change my review once i see some significant updates to improve the quality & functionality of this app.
It doesn't have different color schemes for different events. You can't set a schedule to repeat the next week. Ugh i want me 2$ back
Mr. Developer, thanks for your hard work. I love your app.
I'd have one minor request:
Please make the vertical axis (the hours spacing) scalable. I'm using 7pt font on my iPhone 4 so lots of space remains unused. I'd like to reduce the height of hours (shrink the view vertically) so that more hours can fit onto a single page. I can even imagine a setting where, in portrait view, all 24 hours fit on the screen with 6pt font.
In settings you can clearly see 'customize calendar colors' and works just fine. So pay no attention to the folks that have obviously not even bothered to play around with it for more than 3 seconds.
Awesome app well worth the few bucks. Does what it's made for.
This is what the native calendar app has been missing. Very customizable and works with no problems. Support is very open to suggestions. It fixed the one big problem I had going from Blackberry to iPhone. Thank You!!
I LOVE this app. I've only had it a few days, but have had no problems. You can customize the font, and other aspects, to optimize the weekly view. It has updated the iPhone calendar without any glitches so far. I wish it had a monthly view, but otherwise I love it!
Works as described, several useful settings options, stable, easy to see week at a glance. Ideally, this sort of functionality would be integrated into a full-blown calendar with other types of views. Uses the same database as the built-in calendar app so one can easily switch between them. I do end up using this app more than the built-in one. Recommended.
I had a hardtime going from the blackberry to iPhone and giving up the week calendar view. I use it a ton to make plans, see if lunch is open for the week etc.. This app is great. Not much to it, just a week view, but it integrates totally with your iphone calendar. Totally worth the cost to me. And it's not just for display. You can update appointments, create new ones like normal AND you can copy and paste or drag and drop which you can't do on the normal calendar. Love it! I plan on using this pretty much full time.
It is a little small so I do use landscape quite a bit, but I never have gotten used to the list or day view since that wasn't my style so I'm very thankful to be back to a week view!
One small bug is that when I tried to invite someone to my meeting it crashes. I just add in regular app so no biggie bit just wanted to mention the issue.
The week view here emulates the iCal week view closely and is a better interface than the built in calendar or the other calendar apps I've tried. It will become your default view. A simple but very helpful improvement would be to indicate with a thin colored line where appointments are hidden above or below the screen for each day so you know to scroll up or down to see them. A pinch to zoom feature to control the number of hours shown would be great. Ultimately we need calendar apps that allow continuous pinch zooming from a single appointment view to a multi month view, with intelligent rearrangement of the data at the various time scales. A calendar designed for the iPhone interface! For that I'd pay even 5 bucks!
Weekcal may not be super sophisticated but it does what I want. Provides a colour coded view of events by the week so I can easily see my activities for the week. It syncs really well with iCal which I think is a plus and a small technical problem I had was resolved by the Weekcal team within 24hrs of posting a request. Good app at a good price. Five stars if there were arrows at the top and bottom of a day column showing me that I had other events to scroll up or down to.
...now, Apple, why didn't you integrate this in iCal.app?
