DiveBuddy Pro is the Swiss army knife of scuba diving utilities for the iPad. As at August 2010, it is the only Electronic Dive Log written and optimised for the iPad. iPhone users check out DiveBuddy Pro - iPhone Edition. You can transfer your electronic dive logs between iPhone and iPad editions.
Written by a Master Scuba Diver Trainer, its made for to be easy to use.
If you liked iDive Nitrox and iScuba RDP, youll love DiveBuddy Pro. In addition to the same easy to use Nitrox Calulator, DiveBuddy Pro also includes:
+ Recreational Dive Planner with Nitrox (Compatible with PADI eRDP and RDP and EAN EAD tables).

Finally an electronic dive log that I can honestly say is better than my paper log book. Its looks like its been created especially for the iPad, none of this tweaking an iPhone app for iPad, its a real iPad app that has everything a dive could want in a log book. Don't even have to worry about using the eRDP or tables, just sick in the max depth and bottom time and the app does the rest. And if you need an eRDP, there's even a like applet inside the app. Need to work out what nitrox blend to get for a dive, the app works that out too. As noted by the author, if you put a dive site name that doesn't begin with A to Z then the app crashes and you have to reinstall. Also if you're putting in dive from last year or earlier you have to do a lot of scrolling in the date picker. I think the author has said that the next version fixes that and its with apple for approval. I contacted the author using the inbuilt feedback button, it works well, the author was very fast in responding to my questions and its nice to see a developer that writes apps for the benefit of the customer. I guess that the author also being an experienced diving instructor helps. Well done, keep up the good work. We should all be supporting someone who's contributing to our hobby. Ofcourse there could be new features added , but credit where credit is due, there is nothing better than this app so its worth 5 stars!

It's a dive log, a planner, a calculator! This thing looks AWSOME. I'm headed to Bonaire next week & can't wait to use it. I really like the dive calculators. Playing with them has helped me brush up on my dive table skills, something all non-professional divers should do. As a result I'll do a better job planning my dives. Good job on the app. It's nice to see good programmers working on dive tools.

To Hcoded1970: You sound like a jealous, if you were a real software engineer you would have written this app. This is by far the best electronic dive log app on the market. There are some really dodge apps that do not do any where near the features that this one does for the same price. Very good value for money, money well spent. Well done and thanks for writing this app. Anyone that does not rate this app at least 4 stars if not 5 stars needs to take a hard long look at themselves. You can always want more features and maybe you should do what I did and use the feedback button to ask the author to add them, but come on, this app delivers all the features advertised and does it well. If you think by rating giving a crap rating it will motivate the author to make enhancements then you are dreaming.

This is a very good electronic dive log program that truly makes good use of the iPAD. The product is evolving and the developer seems to be open to suggestions. All log information is pretty much entered off of the main page and you don't get lost. You can go back and enter dive logs after the fact. It has a VERY nice GPS interface that allows you to incorporate GPS Maps of your dive site within your dive log. I really like the fact that you can include you own photos as well. Things that I would like to see: dive log printing capability (which we are hoping will come with OS 4.0x in November, dive log stats (total # of dives, total bottom time & total number of dive types) and automatically calculating surface intervals on multi dives within the same day. GREAT effort has been made in developing this product and I'm sure more enhancements will come.

This app has potential, but selecting a location is laggy and not intuitive. I am a software engineer and cannot figure out how to use the google maps to set a location. Also I cannot type in a location directly I have to go thru a long process instead of being able to type in a dive location directly. Maybe setting a dive as I am doing it will be faster but what about if I want to transfer all 200 + dives? Would take 20+ hours if not more.

If you are a diver, get this app. I have purchased other dive log apps and this is the best one. Ive had some problems with the time and date, but once I reboot my ipad, the problem is resolved. I am able to log on all my dives with all the essential information and able to email and/or transfer them to another device. Calculators are great, dive tables are great. I have not tried the GPS maps yet, but will when I arrive to Roatan in March. I will update my review once I get to Roatan.

But, if you think about it, it is less than the cost of an eRDP and a logbook, making it well worth the money. Once installed I figured out I was right to purchase it. Once in the program you can log all your dives, along with location via GPS coordinates and Google Maps. It lets you log everything the way it should be and give all the details of your dive. You can even print your logs out for paper copy and back up your logs to a regular computer.Hands down, if you are an avid diver, this is the app to buy. Its worth every penny and then some. It is especially useful if you are logging a lot of dives and want to include detailed information. I find it very useful for the regular diver and diving professional.
