	Clean and elegantI cant count the number of times Ive wondered "What mountain is that?". I love this app! I especially like being able to pick a viewing location someplace other than my current location. Would have been handy last month when my brother called from I-90 to ask "What is that big peak right in front of me?"

	Really cool. Really useful!!!I just downloaded this app and cant wait to use it in the field next week on a trip to Lassen National Volcanic Park. Just playing with it in my house Im already impressed. This is one really cool app. Its a little awkward at first learning the interface, especially trying to view very nearby peaks, but once I figured out how to move the picture up and down and bring up the binoculars to select the red dots on the closer peaks (that arent labeled onscreen) I was hooked. Its really great that the user can switch peaks (i.e. viewing from Lassen Peak tapping on Mt. Shasta to switch to Shasta Peak and get a back bearing/view towards Lassen). Im also excited that I could change the preferences to switch the compass to degrees so I can break out my old-school analog compass and take bearings... awesome! I also think its great that I dont need an internet connection to view... very helpful in the wilderness and rural areas that most people might use this app. I dont know how many times Ive been in the field and wondered "what peak is that?" because my printed topo map coverage area wasnt large enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

	Provides useful information.But I was shocked that it didnt use compass and gyro. I imagined it working like Star Walk but for mountains.

	Got service?I was really excited to try out this app on our vacation to Glacier National Park. It worked great in Apgar Village on the shore of Lake McDonald. The rest of the time, it was a complete waste. If you have phone service and can get a GPS track, buy the app. If you plan to go anywhere in Montana near Glacier, skip this app. I had no bars/no service for most of our trip (thanks AT&T). No fault of the app that it didnt work, just check before you go to see if you will have service with your iPhone.The two star rating was more for the phone service. I may have rated it higher if we had more opportunity to play around with the app.

	Updated ReviewI first tried this app. in a deep valley, and was disappointed with the lack of ID of the mountains directly in front of me. However, after further review (and 1000 feet of elevation gain) I was much more satisfied. Since using this app. in a variety of locations, I have actually been impressed! If you spend time in the mountains, this one is certainly worth the money.

	Great app for identifying mountain peaksThis app is great for identifying what peaks youre looking at. While some reviewiers dont like the lack of compass/gyro integration, I like the manual aspect of being able to scroll around as I already know what direction Im facing. Im not saying that compass/gyro integration wont be a plus, but it would have to be something one can easily bypass. Ideally it would be nice if the compass/gyro would give one an initial view that you can bypass once you want to pan the scene around.I also use the Peaks app by Augmented Outdoors which overlays peak names on a camera image (that you can save). But I usually find the line drawings of Peakfinder to be more usefulI also like that you can use the map to set a location and see what peaks you can see from that location. Its a great way to prepare for a hike.
