Episode 44: The Perfect Swarm
The countdown to doom gets a whole lot grosser with this installment! The blocked door in the temple’s Chamber of Time has been opened, leading to the frightening Locust Room. Inside is an enormously disgusting Locust Queen who can birth a swarm of locusts, as long as she is given sustenance--and you can guess what her favorite food is!
Once the swarm is created, experiment to see what they can do. For instance, they can harass Pygmies, toss ‘em around, slice em up “Fruit Ninja” style, or even turn pygmies into mutant locusts themselves. Weird!!
Find all the locust interactions to earn the Locust God idol for Battle of the Gods. This idol was designed by our buddy Aaron Blecha of Monstersquid.com along with the awesome poster.
This is our second installment involving the temple on Apocalypse Island. The END (of what?!) is coming!
Speaking of guest artists, we are trying something new by having our favorite designers create skin packs. Josh Ellingson (JoshEllingson.com) created a very cool, if somewhat nerdy, Mondo Pack to decorate your islands! He taps into nerd culture (with a retro flair), including toys, monsters and sci-fi. The meteor becomes a 12-sided die, and the outhouse transforms into Dr. Who’s police box! And there’s a sock monkey in there to boot!
And dont forget the iOS5-powered Battle of the Gods Multiplayer! This adds a fun new dimension to Battle of the Gods where you can play the battle with real people! Go into the battle arena and, in the battle selection screen, tap multiplayer to sign up.... and you can challenge random players, your friends or your family to play you in the Battle of the Gods (on their device, of course)! Be sure to use your favorite idols in the battle!
In order to acquire god Idols, you must take the Challenge of the Gods! While the objective of Pocket God is to explore, experiment and have fun, we now offer a whole new way to discover your god powers. On the start screen, tap View Challenges and you will see a menu of icons for the last 44 episodes. Tap an icon and you will be challenged to find all the godly powers bestowed upon you for that episode.

	Developers, here are some of my ideas also. •Ways that the villagers can interact with each other and show emotions, like through thought bubbles "not just opening their mouth when picking them up" •Bigger island and other islands that they can explore and gain things from, maybe to help them survive or to fight each other with "like being able to make spears or other things" •Different kinds of animals or other people that they can choose to be friendly or hostile towards, they are right when they say that a lot of games are about war and fighting. •Some other ways to kill and control them. Like storms, starvation, fire, about anything that can be used against them. I mean you are their god "good or not" That's all I can think of right now but everyone is right! After about 30 sec this app gets old so hopefully updates are coming soon. Best of luck guys

	I and a couple of my friends have noticed that it is complicated to throw islanders into volcano due do the new update of the tidal wave. When trying to throw them a wave comes instead of me throwing my little dudes into a volcano. On the next update please make it so that if the volcano is turned on then you will not be able to call the tidal wave. Or some other type of way to fix this problem. Thanks a lot. In my opinion it would be cool to be able to call in a second dino and have them fight in a future update. All readers plz comment yes or no for each topic.

	This is a great apps. It falls under the category of "Entertainment", though it could become a "Game" very easily. Here are some suggestions:-EVOLUTION: let them evolve, rather rapidly, so that they show us, the Gods, why mankind became such an "Earth-worthy" race;-SHELTER: allow the villagers to look for shelter and, ultimately, master the crafts of technology so that they can escape the arbitrariety of the Gods;-COMPETITION: make the villagers compete with us, the Gods, for the control of the island, using technological advances and shelter as their primary counter-weapons;-SURVIVABILITY: give them more survivability, such as fighting together to beat the Vampire, or ropes to hold on to the tree when you fool around with gravity, and even fishing capabilities to (after enough evolution) fish that shark and make a nice meal;-PROGRESS: in due time, end up getting real cloths, even making houses, buildings, everything in the small island so that they get the feeling of power only us, the Gods, can take away at our own will.Basicly, change the rather "watch them die constantly" engine of this "Entertainment" apps into a struggle between us, the Gods, and them, the villagers. It's a great twist because in most games, we're the ones struggling to survive, while in this game, we're the force of nature, the God Himself, watching our "hatchlings" struggling to survive.As things stand, they don't struggle to survive, they are just at our mercy. Don't forget that the game is used for approx. 5-10 mins max at most times, so the evolution shouldn't take too long to happen.~IntErVERSION1.10: Another great update, right on time, as expected. Great app, definitely a must-have.

	I like that we can finally control the temperature and the way that the temperature change is enabled is fantastic, but if it is possible it would be nice to have more variation...both of the new extremes just kill the pigmies; it would be nice to be able to make them shiver or sweat WITHOUT just killing them almost instantly. Also, you should be able to thaw frozen pygmies by decreasing the distance of the sun. We should be able to alter more things in the world of pocket god as a whole (the temp. is a good start)! Control of more kinds of weather than just lightening would be nice too (where is the rain, sleet, snow, hail, fog, etc.). Also, when the dark clouds are across the screen, there should be a distant sound of thunder, and maybe some distant lightening strikes. This is a top-notch app!!! It is an absolute must have for anyone with an iPhone or iTouch!

	Great idea here. Can't wait for the update. Might I suggest rewarding our little islanders for good behaviour? Perhaps I don't want to be a vengeful god. Maybe a dog treat or something of the sort would be funny. Or a trip to the nearby island salon. Interaction between the islanders and me and the islander would be nice. I want him to beg for mercy, or thank me. How about wives and children for our little men? And little spears that try and poke our fingers. New things and several things that make the game exciting and fun to play would be nice. Maybe we could earn money by doing something and buy either torture devices or beds and houses for our islanders. Plus, of course, a bigger island and more islanders. Thanks.

	Dont Listen to the others on "I waited 2 Weeks for this" The update is great, its nice that you brought back the cloud moving action, And the Menu Selection is great. I have one suggestion for the magnefying glass though, If you remove the magnifying glass while the Islander is on fire, it would be cool if he stayed on fire and ran to the edge of the Island into the water, and it would be cool to pick him up while he is on fire, and smoke raising from him. Overall Im glad i payed the Small 1$ for this great game. The updates are great dont let anybody tell you otherwise. 5/5

	First off I love the idea. But picking up the islander is a little bit stiff, smooth it out a little. Next add ways to pick on the islanders! Lightning freak storms, alien attacks. Make me feel like an all powerful god, right now I feel like an evil mom. Birthing out kids only to have them meet pain.. Allow the villagers to grow, cities, homes etc, only to have start all over when there hateful god sends a hurricane there way! I expect great things from this app!

	I think this is one of the most creative apps on the market, love the concept! I know there us much to come but here is my input 1)u say are we can be a nice god or bad but there is nothing nice we are able to do, only torture mayb u can add food to give to them to b nice 2) they should b able to fight each other 3) create multiple islands because messing around with this app gets pretty boring on that small island 3) obviously lightning and rain 4) we should b able to give them a hut but at the same time b able to destroy it with lightning or hurricanes 4) add sharks if alot of good updates come i will love this, it would have great replay value. Hopefully there is gonna b tons of more updates. All in all this app has great potential!

	But I hate being a weak god! I would love to strike them down with lightning. Perhaps using multi tap. Touch the clouds and a person and lightning strikes. Hey I would even like to defend them against sea monsters occasionaly. And when I kill one of them shouldn't the others get down and pray?

	Pocket God is fun, but I would love to see it evolve into more of an interactive game type app. The little guys could just be living on the island as you interacted with them, maybe adding some good things you could do for them too. And if you did something nice to them, like give them food or make it rain a little, they would start praying or build a church or something. If you are too mean, they might create an idol to worship, etc.Other ideas:* put fish in the water they try to get to eat, but only after you kill the shark* add a God power, such as giving them crops to plant* add a God power, rain, which could be good or bad, depending on how long it rains* add a God power, sunshine intensity - make the sun bigger and it gets too hot, crops die, etc., but if it is too small, it gets too cold* add a God power, animals, that they could eat or herd/raise/sacrifice to you if you are doing too many bad things to them* add different skins/characters for the people, for example politicians, celebrities, sports teams, etc.Mostly, it would be nice to do some good God stuff too.And instead of simply creating new people, it might be neat if there was a little village in the background and more people came out when conditions were good. I was kind of thinking of a game based on those episodes of The Simpsons, South Park, and Futurama, where they had those little civilizations and the characters became 'God.' Kind of like a mini-Sim City/Civilization type game.

	This app serves a purpose. I bought it because of all the hype, and I have to say, for $.99, it's worth it. If it was like, $5.99, we'd have a problem, but for the amount of free updates and new creative features they're always adding on, a dollar is A FAIR AMOUNT TO PAY, so stop bitching, consumers. That being said, yes, okay, it gets boring. If you try to play it for hours, you'll burn out on it. But the fact is, this app is not meant to be played like role playing or strategy apps. It's meant to be a five minute ego boost that's most effectively played when you're bored and stressed and feeling powerless in your own life. It serves its purpose well because it allows you to play God to a more unfortunate people than you. For the love of your god do not save them; this is about taking out frustration, not keeping them alive!! They aren't nanopets or digipets or whatever, they are an infinant disposable commonity! 	As soon as i updated it to the most recent version, it stopped working. I tap the icon, the loading screen came up, and it went back to the ipod screen. I tried resetting the ipod, and even tried turning it off completely, but it wont load. I am running it on firmware 2.2.1 secong gen ipod touch. It is not jailbroken, so it shouldnt be that there is not enough memory to run it. Plz fix, this game was awesome!

	Good concept, but needs more features and you should be able to design islands. Maybe picking up two charecters at once? Dropping a charecter onto another charecter? Creating a lion or other animal, or making two charecters fight?
