Why can't I keep playing after I win or lose? The old Civ for the PC did that. It seems SO easy to add this option or feature ... Why isn't this allowed?

This is a great game that deserves 5 stars but the problem is the crashing. It crashed even after the update. It is a shame that such a great game cant get 5 stars from every person because of this small but very annoying problem.

Still get crashes after the update....now there is also an issue that the game lists your opponent having things that aren't there-like generals or naval support. First review; fun game with depth but ultimatly it feels like the game is cheating=it should show the numbers on any combat. a catapult beats my tank? when I know it's got a 70+ attack?

If you enjoy turn based conquering games then this is the game for u. Start out with settlers and challenge yourself. The best part is it's always something different never the same. i have this on PS3 too and I love it. Great buy totally worth the 7 bucks. No problems at all with the app.

Hooray! The latest update finally fixed all the game crashes! This is now the most played game on my iPhone 3GS. I'm amazed how they managed to capture such a huge game into such a small device. They did a great job and I heartily recommend the game!

this game is excellent, top 10 in my personal favorite strategies. only thing I would improve is multiplayer over bluetooth and wifi. thanks for an excellent game

I just downloaded the latest update. It has some major quirks where my units disappear after an encounter with enemy fighter planes. Game visuals will show that the units have suvived an attack from the enemy planes, but when the fight screen disappears, my unit is gone. This happens even when my unit has an overwhelming advantage over the enemy fighter plane. Basically, every time my units get attacked by enemy fighter planes, they get defeated. Also, it has another bug where I cannot defeat a city because it has inifinite number of units. I will defeat around 100+ of its units but they just keep coming back. So I cannot finish the game. Shame that it is so prone to problems because it's a fun game.

I've followed the Civ series since I received CivII as a birthday present when I was probably around 9 or 10. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to see this on the iTouch. I originally downloaded it November 2009, and though I did play it quite a bit at first, the game gets really repeatative. I found myself avoiding talking to any other civ as I knew they would just declare war on me in 10-15 turns or so without exception. I also really miss the ability to name your own cities and such. I probably haven't touch the app for about 2 months now. Anywhos, bottom line, I would say it'd be perfect for the 2/3.99 range, but for me it lacks the longterm playability to really warrent the current $6.99 pricetag.

The game has no bugs and is done very very well. It is an excellent port of the xbox/ps3 version. But it is very limited in diplomacy.

After months of waiting. The crashing for the most part has been fixed. It still crashs. But way less than before. And now when it crashs, you restart the game and your basically back where you were when it crashed. This maybe not totally OK. But its good enough where the game is fun to play again. I'm giving it 5 stars. Since it still crashs a bit, it really only deserves 4 1/2. 5 because it's just fun to play again!

We all know civ is a great series; however, it severly bothers me that the developers spent very little time on the iPhone edition as it is a simple port over and a $5 charge. There are several unfixed bugs inthis game (such as racial specialities don't work for many civs, ie Germany), nonew features were added, and no signficant updates have been released (and they probably never will update this version). The devs should be ashamed to charge for this when they put forth 0 extra effort.

Time and tech goes too fast - need more maybe. Don't know what wonders do offhand (before finishing research) unless played before. Game crashes on save if white screen was seen during battle. Accidentally moving units drove me crazy. Bombers are too strong - makes game easy once you have them. Government goes to anarchy before seeing list to choose with abilities of each.

Warning this app is so awesome it has been know to make large chunks of your life disappear. You may decide to play for like 10 minutes and then lose like 3 hours of your evening. This game is so much fun!

Of course you can't compare it with the PC version... But it is the best game I've ever seen on iPhone! Being a fan of the Civ Saga helps, that's true... A few things that keep me from giving it 5 stars: 1- Moving units is not an easy task, the map should pan when you have your finger at the edge of the screen. 2- Diplomacy is just too basic. You can declare war and make peace too often, AI leaders should have some "memory". 3- No option to sell or even kill obsolet units... I just dump'em at a desert island (just like a junkyard). 4- The atomic bomb is pathetic. You get only one, and you can't move it from one city to the next one, that means, your target has to be on your sight of view (imagine the radius of that given city on a 3 1/2 inch screen). Should move just like an airplane. 5- The most annoying "flaw" imo is not have the chance to play the game after you reach one of the goals. "Play one more turn..." is a MUST on the next update. But the game NEVER crashed on my 3GS, every time I get a phone call the autosave works fine and the best thing: does not take too much juice from the gadget. If you like turn-by-turn games, this is a must have. And for $6.99 you can't go wrong. BUT DON'T EXPECT TO HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS YOU DO WITH THE PC VERSION.

The volume is all the way up all the time since i upgraded. Also there are bugs with loading and unloading great generals onto ships, and during combat the list of combat modifiers (hills, veteran, etc) is the same for both parties. The list for the attacker shows up for the defender. Time for an update for sure.
