Its no SamorostThis game has been compared to Samorost. I guess it is in the same category of point-and-click puzzlers, but it is nowhere as sophisticated as Samorost and Machinarium. Many of this games puzzles make little sense, and it seems that some of the games responses to the players input are inconsistent, so that something that didnt work a moment ago does work now. Also, the game has nothing to do with Hamlet - that just seems to be a bit of superficial gloss slapped on to help market the game. Art style is fun. Overall, really promising, but not there yet.

This is the future of literatureThere is a quandary that faces the youth of today and those who want to enrich it. How do you present classic literature to a generation built on the concept of LOL and texting. The answer comes from Alawar Entertainment. Hamlet, one of the finest piece of literature known to man but how can one take this classic and provide it to the youth of this generation that is not only acceptable but entertaining. One could go the route of just changing a few words and make it "hip" or someone can take the step and reform and reestablish the software and the story to make it an experience. I was hesitant at first to work this game as the idea of any new app can spell out unfortunate but this purchase came with consideration. The game has a lot going for it. If it is not the art then it is the music and if it is not the music it is the character and personality. To simply label this an adventure game would do disservice to the creativity this company has produced. I imagined as I played a world where they created even more of these interactive pieces such as the Iliad or even Beowulf (that could wash away the horribleness of the movie.) There is no limit and this is a bright perspective on a future they have helped establish. Bravo gentlemen for forming a creative and fun learning experience that brings understanding.

So far an awesome ride!First of all, I fell in love with these point and click games ever since playing the wonderful Samorost. I had never really been a fan of the genre of point and click adventures but Samorost drew me in and eventually I went back and replayed the old games. Games like "The Secret of Monkey Island" are excellent additions to the app store but there is something about "Hamlet" that reminds me of the game that got me into this genre. Its quirky and beautiful and, rather than navigating inventories and putting together tools from various items you collect, the objective is to make your environment work for you. I definitely recommend this game!

Seriously?This app was really fun and hard! But, it only comes with like 10 levels which I finished rather quickly. So not worth $2! more like $.99. Add more levels or something please!!!

Good but...Way too short! Can finish in a couple hours if you put your mind to it. Good graphics, good puzzles, but no replay ability. You would not play it again after you figure each stage out. Add more stages in future updates or some kind of a sequel for free!
