Roger Ebert has been the film critic of the Chicago Sun-Times since 1967. In 1975, he won the Pulitzer Prize for distinguished criticism. The following year, Roger and Gene Siskel began a long run of reviewing movies on TV with Sneak Previews, which was followed by At the Movies and Siskel & Ebert. After Siskels death in 1999, he was joined by Richard Roeper on Ebert & Roeper until illness deprived him of the ability to speak. He and his wife Chaz now produce Ebert Presents at the Movies, syndicated nationwide on PBS stations.
Ebert is the only film critic honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was voted an honorary life member of the Directors Guild of America, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American Society of Cinematographers. His reviews appear in some 200 newspapers worldwide, and he has published 17 books.

First of (hopefully) Many Film Review Apps from our Greatest CriticRoger Ebert has always been my favorite film critic and hes still going strong today. His "Great Films" selection should be treated with respect and studied. His Great Films app is no different. Extremely in-depth reviews in large font and highlighted by great film stills. Easy to scroll, search and link to Twitter or Facebook (no IMDB link though). Hopefully well see more apps from Roger Ebert. A "I Hated Your Film" would be great as well.

The app I didnt know I was waiting forGreat app. Downloaded immediately! Looks great on my iPhone, works well on my iPad. I would like a future version to take advantage of the iPads screen (I blow up the iPhone screen to 2x on my iPhone), but this is more than enough for now. Like I said, an app I didnt even know I needed, a no brainer 99 cent buy. Thanks!

Two Thumbs UpWhy has no one given a review yet with the title "Two Thumbs Up"? I aim to rectify that. With regard to the app, its GREAT that its finally here! It is well-designed and has all the basic features you would expect.There are a few things that could be improved. The fonts, while easy to read, could be adjustable. There could be links on anything linkable. In my dream world, there would be an Ebert app that encompassed his entire lifework, which is thankfully still expanding. There would be a section for current reviews, with a push notification when a new review came online.But the current app is a good start, and an incredible value.

If you run iOS 5, stop leaving poor reviews for crashing Apps!iOS 5 IS BETA (and will be until its release in autumn). Many apps you own may seem buggy, or may crash outright if you attempt to run them on a BETA iOS. Stop leaving poor App reviews if you run a BETA iOS. Doing so is unfair to the app developers, negatively sours the app ratings, and demonstrates your own ignorance.

Good concept but buggy. Wait until update.App does not retain your settings as to whether youve seen a movie or not. It doesnt retain them if you use the side the side arrows. If you go through the full list and quit the app it forgets them all. Thats one of the main points of the app and it doesnt do it. Fail.The app support button on iTunes simply takes you to eberts site. Even under contacts theres no place to file a bug report. Fail.
