Surprising noone has mentioned bugs in the game playAs a Magic the Gathering player I was excited when I first downloaded Orions. After 4+ weeks of playing the game I am frustrated and disappointed. I have seen reviews mentioning that new cards are essential, but I am surprised that I have not seen anyone mention the bugs in the game play! Here are just a few that I have found: Sometimes when I drag a spell into the playing field I find, when I remove my finger, that it is not the spell I dragged out. If I have all 5 slots filled with creatures the game will not allow me to cast a spell however it will allow the cpu to do so. There is intermittently something wrong with the Steal Life and Life Sacrifice calculations. It’s too long to explain here but more than once I have been absolutely perplexed as to how it came up with the final numbers. Earthquake, states “Doesn’t affect owner’s creatures, if owners Earth A 12.” Just doesn’t work period.There are more but frankly I don’t like being a Beta tester for a product I have had to pay for.You could argue that some of the issues I have with the game are related to lack of understanding of the rules. My answer to that is yes that could be true in some (not all) of the cases, however since there are NO RULES PROVIDED it’s still a lousy explanation.This could be a 4 or 5 star game with some new cards in an update that includes Beta testing by the developers, or at least by people who are getting the game for free.

Then you duel against other "cities" so you can place new buildings allowing new cards to be bought and to generate resources (for buying cards/buildings purposes). Theres no "permanent" card in your hands - once you draw them into battle, it will be gone no matter what (you start off with some kinds of card at a quantity of 80, some around 15 and another 2 or 1). Still great fun!

UnbelievableIts like a mashup of Magic: The Gathering, Heroes of Might and Magic, and Sins of a Solar Empire. The price tag is pretty reasonable compared to the quality, depth, and replayability of the game.After spending SEVERAL hours (read: about 8-10) playing this, Ive run across a few things that probably need to be put into the next update:- We need to be able to read the details of cards outside of battle. I hate it when I have an Orion completely built out and when I go to buy cards there, I cant remember exactly what some of them do and I cant find out because theres no way to read their descriptions. (FIXED IN FIRST UPDATE!)- On the large campaign maps, all of the Orions look the same regardless of what the player has built on them. I find that I waste a LOT of time staring at loading screens as Im switching between all of my Orions and trying to figure out where I can get certain cards. It would be cool if whatever you build also showed up on the map for easier pinpointing of which places I need to visit to buy cards. Even a simple number indicating how many elemental buildings are on an Orion would suffice.- We need better indicators of how close an Orion is to its maximum building capacity and, possibly, a way to destroy buildings to make room for more.- I dont know if the developer intended it to be like this, but Id love to be able to dump a stack of cards that I find useless. I hate Nymphs and yet I almost always end up with a stack of 80. Horrible waste of Power.Even with these flaws, I still consider this a 5-star game. One of the deepest, most immersive, and most time-consuming (in a good way) games on the App Store right now.THIS IS THE ONLY REVIEW YOU NEED TO READ. Back out of this section and go tap the BUY NOW button before they raise the price to something more suitable for this kind of quality!

Seriously Great, New Favorite!I have been waiting for a game like this forever! And finally someone delivers. Many thanks to the developers and creators. The game plays like a 4X game (Sins of a Solar Empire, Strategic Commander[palm]), but has the core of a fantasy card game. It takes little getting used to. The tutorial does not go into 100 detail as to whats going on, but it gives u a pretty good idea. Enough to get u started, to the point where u can figure out the rest as you go with no major fallbacks. Also! You can save like 5 different games at a time! This game should be at the top in no time, and for $1.99?! This is an INSANE deal, get it NOW before they realize they can raise the price! I BET WE CAN EXPECT NEW CARDS IN FUTURE UPDATES!!! Best game on the iPhone. Period.I have just a couple issues and they are: 1.) When you are buying/"forging" cards I wish you could double-tap them and find out their stats BEFORE you buy them... It may be intentionally left out but I think it would be a nice feature to have.2.) The loading screen flickers a bit sometimes. This may sound picky but Im sure it will bother some people (not me really).Neither of those are anything near enough to cancel out the 5 star rating for enjoyment I have got from this game. 5+ STARS

Pretty boring if you ask me...And I usually like card games. I just found that building things all over the place, switching from map to map since you can only build 3 things per area per turn, and keeping track of what you have and dont have in your deck was tedious and hard to do..There was no "view current deck" option without going into the buggy shop menu and seeing what you have in the shop.. Btw I found it annoying that you couldnt see the amount of current crystal you have when you are buying cards.I couldnt throw away old crappy cards and maxed out my deck, and I didnt see a sell option in the store, so I got stuck and that is when I decided to delete this game.My suggestions: 1) Make the building management in one place (or get rid of it completely), I dont want to play sim city, it was boring and it took time away from playing the "card game" part.2) In fact, make everything together, its annoying to have to go to 10 different stores just because I built a certain building somewhere.3) I personally felt that there wernt that many cards, but the art work was impressive so I guess it takes time to make them.4) ... I guess thats it, I mean the load time was long and there were bugs, but that probably isnt as critical as unattractive game play.GJ other than that.

Great game, but could use refiningThis is a well done game with some quirks that could make it much better. It is similar to MTG as other commentators have mentioned. Note that this game needs more that 30MB of free RAM, otherwise it will crash quite regularly. This means you should always shut down the core iPod apps before running (iPod, Mail and Safari) (I bought MemStatus to do this for me). Pros- Replayability- Ease of usage during fighting and simple rules to understand- Great graphics and animationCons and bugs- RAM usage and crashing if not enough- Managing resources in the orions gets boring and tedious, espectially in a large map- You have to keep re-buiying your cards, also can get tedious- In the card screen, clicking on the accept cancel button clicks the card buttons underneath too- If you use too many resources during card selection, a dialog will open, reseting the scroll position of the page- No documentation for the options page that I could find (on the internet or in the game)- Scrolling in the documentation is extremely painful. Please use a stardard text page with smaller font and extremely quick scrolling- Game gives you an error dialog if you select too many cards, instead it should stop you from selecting more than your resources allow- The card selection screen covers up your resources, so you dont know what you can afford- Very easy to win after a couple of plays- Some aspects need micro-managing and get boring on large campaign maps- Documentation could be improved

Best game ever finally! Gets an updateUpdating my rating because this is the first thing I got on my iPhone 3g and its still been on my phone to this day. I can pretty much play the game with my eyes closed at this point. Orions 2 is more than 2 years past due and I hope they dont take this long to update again. Not sure if they had trouble with chillingo or what but if so they should publish their games by themselves more frequently. cant wait for orions 2 its going to be the new best game for iOS. I hope they make an iPad version because they could do so much with all the extra space like showing on the side card info, play history, stats like how long youve been playing how many cards you played total damage done by each player etc! But I just cant wait for the next game is going to be unbelievable!

Well...its about time.Im pretty sure they only updated the app to let us know Orions 2 was coming out.sighIn any case, I love this game. Its the first game I purchased for my first gen iPod touch. And still remains one of my favorites.Lets hope Orions 2 ceases to be Chillingos "Duke Nukem Forever" vaporware, and actually comes out soon.

Thanks for coming through Chillingo. :)bug report: after you press the button to finish your turn the top player bar flickers. annoying!-------------------------v:1.1:I play this game far and away more than any other on my ipod since I got this back in 2008. Why the 1 star? Because the support for it has been terrible, and they have done nothing in 2 years to correct the copius bugs in the game. Random crashing, Flaming Arrow has some terrible math in it if you play against the computer, itll usually hit you for 10+ every time, even when youre only 1 mana under the computers for example. There are tons of expansions out for this too, they are sitting on a gold mine and doing NOTHING to claim it. Guess well just wait for WOTC or someone else to make a M:TG ipod game or clone thereof. Itll happen Chillingo, unless you beat em to it. PS... 5 star review if you update this app. Wont wait forever though, neither will the thousands of others who supported this.
