Description

If youre serious about increasing your core strength, follow this six week training program and youll soon be on your way to completing 200 consecutive sit-ups!
Think theres no way you could do this? I think you can! All you need is a good plan, plenty of discipline and about 30 minutes a week to achieve this goal!
No doubt some of you can already do 100 consecutive sit-ups, but lets face it, youre in a big minority. Most of you reading this wont even be able to manage 20 sit-ups. Actually, Im sure many of you cant even do 10.
However, it really doesnt matter which group you fall into. If you follow the progressive sit-ups training program, Im positive youll soon be able to do 200 sit-ups!
For a full body workout try the Twenty Chinups, One Hundred Pushups and Two Hundred Squats programs too.

This app worked well for me thru 2009, but defaulted to all zeros and jibberish in 2010. I cannot enter any more workouts. 4 stars in 09, zero in 2010.

If you have not tried to do sit ups and need results this is for you. Personly I fitness is a much better work out. Not only can you work out on your abdominals but everything in between. Ifitness is the must have work out app.

I am very unmotivated when it comes to working out, and I love that this app helps me motivate! However... opening the app it asks how many sit ups you can do - seeing the picture in the app I assumed that they meant full sit up (since there was no other definition of sit up) and wrote a number. However, they meant how many crunches I can do, which is 3x that number. There is an area where you SHOULD be able to input your number again if you screwed up, however the "Okay" button is out of the screen and you are unable to confirm the change. I am stuck starting out a workout consisting of 3-2-2-3, when I would love to push myself to do more. Otherwise I would have given this app 5 stars.

I was just about to start week six when I updated this app. It downloaded completely on my Ipod but when I clicked on the icon it didn't open. The screen blinks once every time I touch it but then returns to my home page. I've gone a whole week without building up stamina and I can already feel my strength seeping away. For those of you that are contemplating whether or not to buy I would suggest waiting till they get this bug fixed. The program itself is really great! It challenges you to push yourself but not over-extend your body. You'll feel yourself grow stronger with each weak and you'll have the ability to repeat a week if need be. If you started like me, with little ability with sit-ups, it WILL take a while. You have to realize this. You can't get healthy and look great over night. You need to remember that this app is a work-out, it doesn't mean it can cure your fat. It builds muscle more than get rid of your chubbiness (to do this you'll need to run, bike, or kick-box). You must also remember to eat right ALONG with using this really great program.

I am 60 and have always had exercise as a large part of my life. Mostly cardio. But I've never been able to do pushups or sit ups - always knew something was short in my core strength. I recently read an article relating the importance of pushups to core strength - especially as we age.These programs got me started, motivated, and challenged in a good way. The programs eally brings results.

It's been acting up for a while now at the end of each workout. It won't let me save my reps at the end and now with new update, I can't even get back to the main menu. Please fix this, I loved this app before these issues started! I will change to 5 stars when issue is resolved. Using ios4 on iphone 4 BTW.

This app does exactly what it says, namely tracking your progress through the 200 Situps program. I'm having a couple of issues with the latest version, though, which is why I'm giving it only 2 stars. If these get resolved, I'll edit my review to 4 stars. 1. The "shake to zero" feature on the timer no longer works. I have no choice but to let the timer run its course in-between sets. 2. The app sometimes freezes if I put it into the background in the middle of a workout.

The app is a fun way to remind yourself to do situps. That's about it. The progression is completely contrary to good exercise theory, and doesn't take advantage of the iPhone's capability to adapt the program to your progress. For example, on the day after a mid-program "test" day where I recorded 59 situps, the first two sets of the routine gave me 60 and 75 situps to do. I don't think it's likely that anyone who could only do 59 is going to do 75 on the second set. I suspect a lot of the progressions in the program are just pulled out of a hat. Often when increasing the load (# of reps) the program simultaneously decreases the rest time between sets, making completing a routine extremely unlikely. A program that adapted to your progress and tailored workouts to you would be worth $2. This one is just an amateur hack.

I would have not really even looked at this cause I have a few others that have set ups in them. But the guys from the Feast of Fun podcast talk about this app on just about every show. So I got it and what a diffrence it has made. You own them a lot for getting the word out for you!

This app is great. It has you do as many set ups as you can for the first test and then tells you exactly when and how many to do. It is just like having a trainer right there pushing you. You push the button to start and it tells you how many to do first, push the button again and the timer counts down and then it tells you how many to do, etc.. One Hundred Pushups is the same kind of program and does the same thing effectively. Good job. Now, if you could just make this kind of program for wieght lifting, you would have the ultimate trio of apps.

2 weeks in so I can't give a final report, but it lays out a good routine and I guess you just have to trust the science and formulas behind it since they hide that from you. Would be nice to see the final workout easily so you know what you're working your way towards (as a motivational tool). I'd imagine 5 sets of 40 to reach 200. :)

Very doable six-week training program. You actually do crunches instead of sit-ups. Amazing how fast you progress. I religiously followed the training program and successfully completed two hundred consecutive crunches at the end of five weeks.I really liked the recommended M-W-F schedule: one day off between workouts to rest with two days off on weekends to recover.I didn't realize that Steve had a companion website until about week three: twohundredsitups.com. On the site you’ll see how you’re placed in an appropriate training program as you progress, depending on initial and intermediate test results. I spent the first four weeks in Column 1.Around Week 3, after looking at the website, I caught on that you’re supposed to be maxing out reps in your last set during each training session, rather than just performing minimums. So I changed and as a result, during my end-of-week four exhaustion test, I blew way past the 60-crunch threshold and was promoted to Column 3 for my fifth week.Week 5 saw a huge bump in training: that was ugly but I could handle it at that point. By the end of the week I was able to execute 212 consecutive good-form crunches during my exhaustion test.

I started this and had a rigerous situp routine every day.. but i kind of trailed off. This app is simple and good, but it would be nice if it you could have push notifications to remind you to workout

I like the app, it's nice to have a way to chart your progress. I have a few small issues though... In the app a week is just three days so you have breaks. Your abs don't need more than a day to recover so this is kinda dumb. Also I did 120 for my first test and then it starts me off doing 5 sets of 12-15 reps... Really?? I'd like to be pushed more, that's when you really improve and isn't that the point?

This is an excellent companion to the 100 sit-ups regimen. I find I stay on the program better now. For those complaining that you can't change the timers and intervals--that's the point. This app is married to a specific workout program. If you're not on that program, you shouldn't buy this app.
