Description

Things is a beautifully focused and amazingly intuitive task manager. Other todo applications either oversimplify or are too difficult to use. Things instead offers the perfect balance between ease of use and powerful features.
Effortlessly manage to-dos, notes, due dates, and projects. A smart today list and the scheduling feature allow you to work as effectively as possible - every day.
You can even sync wirelessly with the desktop version of Things (sold separately) using Wi-Fi.
Join the thousands of iPhone and iPod touch users who have made Things the most popular paid to-do manager in the App Store.
Visit our web site for a screencast to find out exactly how Things works.
“If Things sounds simple, thats because it is. Other to-do list managers Ive tried have, quite honestly, gotten in the way of me getting things done. Things doesnt do that. And I wouldnt have it any other way.” -- Macworld.com, ★★★★

Yes, this is a fine update. It's moving closer and closer to being worth the money I spent for it. Yet, we still don't don't have a very basic feature, which is recurring tasks. I don't have an issue with the price as long as the feature set is deserving of that price. In this case, we are paying premium, hence I expect a premium product. The product is a mobile extension of Things the Mac Desktop Client. However, it's priced as if it's a stand alone app.. However, it has failed as a standalone app. There are cheaper apps that have a stronger feature set. The only reason I bought this app is because I invested in the Mac Desktop version. I truly feel for those who bought this as a stand alone app. Once you get past Things' elegant interface, it constantly reminds you of the "powerful features" it doesn't have. Yes, what are these powerful features? WiFi sync? What if you bought the Things iPhone app as a stand alone app? Does it sync to iCal? Does It sync to Outlook? No, because Apple doesn't allow it via MobileMe. Really? Is that the reason? I can sync Appigo's Todo iPad and IPhone apps to iCal without issue. They actually syncs better to iCal than the Things desktop client. What about any web based services? Does Apple stop that too? Does it sync to anything, but the Things Desktop app? If not, it seems very dependent on it for a standalone app. The Things desktop can do recurring Tasks, so you can set them up there and your iPhone app can receive copy that is in your "Today" list. This is not a great solution, but it's better than nothing, which is what the people who sold this as a stand alone app. You can create an entire new app for the same freakin' operating system, but you can't add recurring tasks to the iPhone app? PRIORITIES! I thought maybe you didn't have them, but you do It's MONEY! I guess we won't get cloud syncing until you created Things for the IPad 2 or until Apple decides to let you do it via Mobileme.

I agree with the other reviews; this app is expensive...especially because the iPad app is another $20 and the Mac version is another $50! It's really is fantastic to have your todos on all your devices (when something pops into your head, you can immediately make a note of it whether you're on your phone, computer, or iPad). But $80 is WAY too much money for a simple todo app. Even a big budget game shouldn't cost $80...this is a simple todo organizer...not a crazy complicated, graphics intensive, game or professional niche application. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE...if I were to do it over, I'd go with a cheaper set of programs. Furthermore, it's unwieldy on the iPhone. It feels like it takes SO many taps to modify a todo that's already on my list.

I was an early fan of Things. I've lost the enthusiasm I once had for it. It's very expensive. I rationalized paying so much for the Mac and iPhone app as I really expected that given how expensive they were, Cultured Code would be investing heavily in filling the product gaps. They haven't. The same basic issues I've been dealing with are still there. Want to sync over the air? Can't do it, you need to be connected on the same WiFi network. This is a feature supported by many free apps including with open, cross-app capabilities not locking you into one solution. Traveling on the road and need to sync? Good luck with that. Working in an office environment on a corporate network? Good luck getting your Mac and iPhone to find each other to sync. Now seeing that Cultured Code is charging another $20 for the iPad version, I'm fed up and tired of being locked in. I'm moving to another solution. How can Cultured Code possibly believe their Mac, iPhone and iPad apps are all worth $80? Perhaps to some, but definitely not to me. I've stayed as long as I did with this as I'd invested so much and the overall system is fairly closed making it hard to migrate to something else. Do not make the mistake I did. Do not pay so much for the pretty UI for a product that lacks so many basic capabilities available from other apps. The developer is greedy, price gouging customers, promising lots of features; but is just not investing in filling those gaps. Instead, they're clearly taking the investment from users and putting that towards other new app versions and then coming back to the same customers charging once again unreasonable amounts.
 Kremp1
Ok app but it needs push and repeating tasks I've waited a long time but I might have to go with somthing else these developers need to get off of vacation and start working.
 NVergel
THINGS is great...EXCEPT for repeatable tasks. Cannot set tasks to repeat. A very important feature that other apps have. Would also be nice if alerts worked without having to open the THINGS app. Can't believe repeatable tasks not available yet. C'mon guys!
 Frank.J.D
Yep.

The ability to create and manage Areas and Projects is a very useful new update! There are more options now to move to-dos around which is great. I'm still waiting for Contact List access(I won't hold my breath). I have a strong feeling by next month with the new iPhone we'll finally get OTA Sync and Notifications, with Repeating Tasks by July. Just watch.
 TESPAB
With the latest update this app is just great, I'm giving it 4 stars because I think $10.00 for an iPhone app is a little too much.

Adding the ability to deal with Areas while on my iPhone is a long-awaited feature, along with better ability to move things - kudos! Wish we had more hierarchy in projects/tasks, but it's a fantastic app combo (along with the Mac version). Can't wait to get an iPad so I can run Things there, too - it's actually one of my biggest drivers to get an iPad right now. For people thinking of buying Things - FWIW, I seriously do not get the complaints of a lot of users here about Cultured Code and non-feature updates. I've been using Things for a while now, and seriously, they're really good. They might not have my pet feature out yet or your pet feature out yet, but they don't work for us, they work for them. They seem to be a pretty good company and pretty on the ball. I'm glad to be a Things user.
 appstorejunkie1
Thank you, thank you, thank you. The update is great.
 Francola
This latest update has helped to restore my faith in the development of Things. If they can continue on and bring recurring tasks and over the air sync, 5 stars is definately on the horizon!
 Dewster35
I do have to say I am a bit disappointed. I understand the need to have an ipad app and have all the fanfare that comes with that, but when you promise your customers more enhancement and you continuously push said enhancements back, it does get a little tiring. I love things for the desktop, but I would also love to not have to sync once a day when I'm on the road. Both repeating tasks and OTA sync would solve the issues. Five stars when these two items become available and stable.
 wsantos
We have better options at the moment, for now i dont recomend, its dont have time of a task, only date, and no alarm, you will need to start app once per day to update the badge. Waiting the news versions
 bdhenry
This is an OK app and the desktop software is pretty good, but the sync feature is not reliable and causes corruption of your data. Beware! The company is unresponsive, save your $10 and keep looking! Try toodledo. It syncs with the cloud and is much better
 JRWalsh
I found Things about 6 months ago and I love it. Then, came the iPhone app. I figured I'd give it a go despite being $50 into the program already. $10 on the app store is a fortune, so I was hoping to be blown away.... wrong. This app is not really any better than the 99 cent apps out there. Now, these greedy little people want me to shell out another $20 so that I can be disappointed again on the iPad. I think it's time for a new PR guy. My advice... if you love this app be emotionally prepared to be $80 poorer to get all all that you really want on multiple devices or else buy a good pen and a bunch of post-it notes and take yourself out to dinner with what you save.
 修爾基
It's very slow to update your product guys. Repeat tasks is need for users. I can't understand things without repeat funtion because you waste whole last year to do nothing.
 Chaos 05
I purchased the app for my iPod touch (1st gen) last week, 2/18/2009. Since then I added the 15 day preview of the desktop; and wow. It syncs perfectly with my work mac mini via the wireless network. I am organized and on top of the hundreds of small projects I deal with on a weekly basis as a parish pastor. It is the first time I spent $ on an app; and I do not regret this purchase.
 CalvinLutherEdw
I'm scratching my head a bit with some of these reviews, Things has been nothing short of a Godsend to me. Yes, it builds on to it's own strength when using the Desktop version (I have had zero sync problems coincedentally), but it is also great as a stand alone product. This is not the first productivity app I have purchased--but it will be the last. Take it from a school teacher who has a thousand things on his plate, and an apologist for the GTD model--this product (and it's Desktop counterpart) is worth it.
 LittleMissScrap
Things is the best list making app. I love that I can type it my macbook and then sync it with my iphone. I use this app at the grocery store, at work, everywhere! The syncing can be a little tricky - you have to restart Things on your desktop/laptop in order to get it to sync. Would be nice if it would also sync when my iphone was wired up with iTunes. Oh well, it still deserves 5 stars. I can't remember anything without it!
