Very fun game - crazy really. But just a bit too hard. So fun though that I'd like to live longer! One big suggestion. Once i start climbing levels and after I die once, don't put me back in the middle of bad enemy tank fire and take away my weapon powerups. I lose most of my shields before I can shoot my measly canon. Let me keep my powerups and give me some space. This advice comes after playing it a number of times. I lose my second and third life just seconds after i start. Frustrating! I like the theme of EXTREME, but make it more playable. I recommend the game - 3 stars. Make it more playable and it's an easy 5 stars.

Amazing, engaging, fun re-interpretation of a classic. The graphics and new weapons are all top notch. However, "rage mode" seems utterly pointless when you are killed every 2 seconds and there's nothing you can do about it.

(update) THIS is the best game so far this year. i want to say "just buy it, dont think just buy it" like a moron, i hate those revs so i wont, but i cant stress enough for hard core gamers to give this game a shot, if your big on story and pointless dialog look else where, but if your into hardcore mayham, chaos, and all out carnage, this is the game to get. no other game on the device to date displays the utter amount of everyman for him/her self all out distruction at such a high a pace as vte,plenty of dif modes, dif control ops, great sound, and most important other than the visuals that are some of the best in their own wright, but the replayability is just down right over the top. this game is just gravey. Peter Hirschberg u r the fs, this and Irides from florian Z, are the two best indi games i have ever played on the device, with the exception of jet car stunts, and fastlane, which i still think is the best racing game in the store if your looking for pure speed and drifting, even beter than its model ridge racer, but thats not saying much. any_, be you familiar with this game or the genre, you will not be like one of those dudes in the gamefly commercials. i remember it being "tank wars" on some website years ago. when VT first launched for the device i was sure i wouldnt be playing anything else, sadly i was mistaken. no part on the quality of the game, it was the spitting image of the classic game i remembered years ago, only problem is that it was a little to classic for my taste after so long. VTE blows the old dust off the classic version, without tarnishing any of its retro polish. adjustable graphics, to keep the oldschool feel or to go "nextretro" yes i just made the word up, next gen+ retro so i guess it could be "nextro" too,any_, controls are a tiny,tiny,tiny bit off, it seems you constanly have to adjust when trying to sprint forward the tank is always trying to take an angle, but its so tiny i shouldnt have even said anything. so lets start over the controls are great. the only thing i would like is a rearview realtime camera right next to the sheild display, that would be so cool. what would be cool for VT3 is not a fully render 3d but more tron graphics, like laser bullits that sound like space blaster, more flashing,and streeking colors like geospark, or that other game of the same devs. but this game is super fast pace, duel stick top down survival shooter type fast pace, which brings me to a thought, i think if you added one duelstick for turning, and forward and back thrust arrows with a fire button in the middle of the arrows, would make this game great for the run and gun style player. thanks tho PH, glad to see your, your own company now, nothing against chillingo,just sayin.

This game is absolutely great! If you're having trouble, try starting at the novice difficulty and work your way up. I wasn't very good at first, but I've gotten a lot better using this method. There should be a 5 second invulnerability period when you respawn though. Maybe in the next update! (which is supposed to have multiplayer)

Awesome graphics, weapons and tanks. I wish I could love this game but it gets so hard so quickly that it becomes impossible to play. You have no chance to appreciate the great visuals when you are just spinning around and shooting just to live another three seconds longer. Please, it'd be much more fun if it didn't get sooooooo hard so quickly. Can you make the transition from novice to expert much less "extreme"?

For those who remember and loved the arcade classic Battlezone this is the game for you. It's like the original on steroids. I absolutely love this game. It's the best classic arcade style game I've downloaded for my iphone yet. Now if someone could just make a great version of Tempest I'd be in vintage video game heaven.

Incredible game! Thank you for the Extreme version which rocks! I played the regular version which is also great, but this version is a perfectly polished game!!! Thanks for developing the best app I've played yet. Oh yeah, it does get too hard, too fast. If they could let us go MUCH further along before getting too hard (unplayable), it would be perfect. Please change this!!!

Gets too difficult far too quickly. Should have features like save state. You'll enjoy the graphics and game play for a while, until you reach your frustration point: the best these programmers could come up with for increased difficulty was spawning unmanageable numbers of opponents in rapid succession.

This game is just phenomenal. With a truly great game on a SMALL platform like an iPhone, the phone disappears and you suddenly find yourself immersed. Just enough retro feel along with very exciting modern gameplay. Chaotic and challenging...Most of all, it's just fun as Hell. The physics and the graphics and the sound are TOP NOTCH. Guys PLEASE find a way to port this over to PS3. It would be a huge success I think. Best of luck and keep up the great work!
