Fixed: Spaces in user names with streaming. Had left some code out by mistake.
Fixed: Japanese/Chinese characters in files and folders making the folder/file not load properly.
Added: Uploading an image from your iPhone’s storage or camera will not ask for a file name anymore. Instead, the name is auto-generated from the date and time.
Added: Embedded icons for shares, folders, and most file types. Share and folder icons can be overridden with a “folder.jpg” file inside said folder/share.
Fixed: Handling of folders with mp3s if a folder.jpg file was not found as well (would show an error in the Event Log).
Added: Swipe to the right to show a “delete” button in the file tab. Tap to delete or swipe back to the left to hide.
Changed: XML to JSON in an attempt to speed up browsing.
Changed: Application badge (number) not clearing as it should. Made the app clear the badge on start. Was originally supposed to do that when the notification was cleared on the WHS.
Changed: Thumbnails are resized keeping the aspect ratio (again)
Changed: Optimized memory usage and fixed some leaks.
Changed: Made some other tweaks as when I changed from XML to JSON.

WHS Mobile requires a server running Windows Home Server. Please install the add-in onto your Windows Home Server. WHS Mobile also requires that your Windows Home Server is up to date in order to have the .NET 3.5 update.

WHS Mobile is a utility that lets you manage your Windows Home Server files, port forwards, and users using your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Say you remembered that you needed an image that you had stored on your Windows Home Server while on your way to the office. Normally, this would be a problem. Now that you have WHS Mobile, you can just whip out your iPhone and download the file straight from your WHS. That is just one of the ways WHS Mobile can come in handy and save your butt. (Data plan not included.)

WHS Mobile can give you access to your shared files and manage them from your iPhone. You can delete and rename any file no matter the type.

Search your home server's shares using your iPhone. WHS Mobile interfaces with Windows Search to provide speedy results.

Stream your MP3's that are stored on your Windows Home Server directly to your phone.

View and download your photos that are on your Windows Home Server.

Upload photos from your device's photo library or directly from the camera.

Manage your user accounts from your device. Enable, disable, and delete users without the need to log-in from a computer.

Forgot to forward a port to your Home Server before you left? Just open up WHS Mobile and add it on the go.

Have multiple people who need access? Worried about security? No problem! Each Home Server user account can be given permission to connect using WHS Mobile. You can limit what they have access to do based on accounts. Each user only has permission to view/read/write based on what has been set on the Windows Home Server. You simply set up their account on the Home Server, and then they can log-in with their own user name and password. Log-in credentials are configured/changed using the devices settings app. After installing WHS Mobile, you will see a place to configure WHS Mobile in the settings app.

WHS Mobile is the only way to easily manage your Windows Home Server using your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Great idea for an app - still doesn't work worth a damn I keep my WHS server up to date and have many applications on the server. I would love to be able to monitor it using my iPhone, but this app after all this time doesn't work worth a damn. As of the current release it is broken again so I can't connect to the server. Most releases I can get to the server, but on only one of them did streaming ever work - but it still didn't work well. And even on that release the amount of usefull information mas minimal as far as monitoring usage and managing some key functions. I'm not sure how this app is tested, but there is sure something wrong with the methodology or systems used. I keep hoping!

This app works well and allows you to control the function of your windows home server and access its content from anywhere. If you have problems with it be sure that the iphone app and whs addin are the same version(you may need to restart your server).

I can't get notifications to work even though I have the latest app and add-in and notifications are enabled in Settings app. Please add cover flow for music folder and streaming for videos. Please cache picture peview so it doesn't need to be reloaded when device is tilted. For music streaming please display album cover full screen.

Worked fine for 2 weeks until I Upgraded to 1.5.3. Since then it only gives me whs alerts. Otherwise It simply cannot connect ... Which makes it useless. When it worked it was great. That's why I give 2 stars instead of 1. C'mon Brent, I'm routing for you. How about addressing this prob with more than a suggestion for modifying security settings of temporary .NET files.

Trying to play any media usually crashes the app instantly... that doesn't leave too many features left to comment on. If you want to remotely open a port on your WHS, this app may be worth the $2 to you... otherwise this app is too little too late... "Orb" works much better for streaming media from your home server.

If this app worked, it would be ideal for remoteley accesing your WHS media. Unfortunatley the app has not recieved updates and has fallen into disrepair. You can no longer access my server with the current version and it seems as though there is no hope for a fix at this point. Buyer Beware!

iPhone 3G with OS 4. Everything configured correctly, cannot connect to WHS. Have emailed author for support - let's see what happens. If no help I'll just dispute the charge with American Express.

I just downloaded and followed directions exactly. It worked like a charm I know it doesn't work on wifi without using IP instead of domain name. Assuming the wifi is the same network server is on anyway. Anyways, it works and I'm thrilled!

For this to work you also need the windows home server add in. Do a Google search for whs mobile to find what you need. Wish I could write more but my whs crashed before I got to try the app. I will review later when I get it working. UPDATE: I finally bought what I needed to get my home server back up and running. Still not sure what all the negative reviews are about. One guy claiming to be in IT for years griping about poor documentation. I'm sorry, but you have been in IT for years this app and the home server add in should not be a problem for you and if it is you should probably find a new career. This app works exactly as advertised. Setup the add in, forward the port, setup access rights, make sure your server is setup for remote access, install the app and configure in settings. If that sounds too complicated don't buy the app. Good job to the developer and I hope you keep the updates coming. I would like to be able to add users! Another update: used to work great. Streaming seems to not work now. That was the main thing I wanted and really the most cool feature it had. Hope to see it fixed as well as multitasking.

The is a really good app to have if you use a Windows Home Server and need remote access to the files. I did however find issues with if the username has any spaces in, then it will throw up some odd errors, test with a spare account to check.
