It took us a while to get the new update out, but were pleased to announce the 1.4 update to Critical Wave is now available worldwide! Introducing HD graphics, multi-tasking, tilt control and more, Critical Wave has finally come of age.
TILT CONTROL - Enjoy a more casual style of play using tilt control. With tilt enabled, your ship will automatically target enemies, so the only time youll ever need to touch the screen is to switch weapons and use your special abilities. Its completely optional, so if you dont like it, simply disable it in the advanced options menu.
IOS4 SUPPORT - iOS 4 support has finally arrived! For 3GS and iPhone 4 users, this means Critical Wave now supports multi-tasking. Never loose your progress again when you need to answer a call or need to give your thumbs a rest. The game will simply suspend in the background, retaining all game state.
HD GRAPHICS - For all you lucky iPhone 4 users out there, weve included retina display support. Critical Wave looks great in HD! The iPhone 4s graphical prowess means youll be able to keep running the game at full 60 Hz framerates.
SEMI-3D EFFECT - We got bored of the flat 2D surface of the map, so we gave it some perspective. This new effect creates a semi-3D feel as you move around on the map.
NEW ICON - Finally, a new icon! Its new, its fresh, and it looks much better than the old one!
Also, weve included a few minor tweaks & fixes, such as improved missile targeting and explosion effects.

It's not an interesting game. You get attacked by more and more foes until you die, and you can't save a game, so you start over at the beginning each time. Sounds like hell, or at least purgatory? Not my sense of what a game ought to be.

At first when I bought this app, it did not work however when I contacted the maker I was given excellent service and can finally play it with this new update. After playing it a few times I have come to the conclusion that it's far more enjoyable than the Geofighter game that didn't last 1/10 as much as this game did while offering very little compared to this game. The upgrade feature is nice and gives a few different styles of play.

To be honest, u didn't even expect this to be good, but I am wrong on that one. The graphics are nice, at least it runs smoothly...and I love the fact that the boss will grow every wave...I was playing the first couple levels an thought this game will be just easy as that...but I got to level 10 the boss was...holy crap lol...I have to improve my skills...

Was prepared to be disapointed and caught by surprise when this game brought out the competitor in me! Slick graphics, evolving bosses and rpg style weapon upgrades keep me trying for that high score. Well worth the dollar!

Beautiful and smooth gameplay... Been playing for about two hours now... Very cool. I got to level 8 on easy and holy $&@/ this gets challenging. Nice upgrade system. A must buy for .99!!

I had to tear myself away from this great game to post this because I wanna say I love it! I'm with everybody else on this. I wasn't expecting much but the reviews told me otherwise. I bought it and love it!

There's no sense of damage being done to your ship. Enemies pass through you, have you taken damage? Hard to say. The shield indicator is lost in the noise, so there's little feedback if you're dodging correctly.

I agree with the review below. No sense of damage being done to your ship. If your ship had lives or a health bar, I would bump my rating up to 5 stars. For example, Geofighter, while not a particularly awesome game, has a set of 5 or 6 lives up at the top of the screen. Please fix this! I love the controls and graphics and all that. Great upgrade system too.

Critical Wave is gorgeous, controls perfectly, and has a blazing soundtrack. The game uses a fabulous real-time leaderboard, and has a great twist of letting you pass through the border a la Asteroids, but with limits. I'd like to see an additional weapon or two, but I can also appreciate the minimalist approach when the results are this good.
